Date: Sun, 10 Sep 2000 19:41:40 -0400 Hi, '97 2WD 4.2 Auto std cab and std box. When beginning to accelerate from rest, I hear and feel a tinny rattle, just like loose baffles in the muffler. Hitting everything in sight, heat shields, muffler, pipe, catcon, floor, under-the-bed with a rubber mallet does not reproduce the sound. It occurs about one-third of the time, hot or cold. If it isn't the muffler, what can it be? Has anyone else experienced this? Joel Sturm ------------------------------ From: "Motordrive" <motor Subject: 1999 E-350 Date: Mon, 11 Sep 2000 15:25:41 -0700 I have an E-350 V10 and under steady acceleration it is surging. It is very not noticeable, but it is there. The dealer said that is normal. Does anyone else have this problem? What did you do about it? Any other info on this van would be appreciated, V10, E4OD. Why is it everything is NORMAL when you go to the dealer? Customer "All of my wheels fell off!" Dealer " That is normal for that vehicle." Thanks ------------------------------ From: "parker brooks" <whoz Subject: Re: 1999 E-350 Date: Mon, 11 Sep 2000 15:22:37 -0500 just to rule out the simple, have you checked the tranny fluid when hot? on a flat surface (can you leave the truck in N with no brakes on without it coasting away?) also the engine oil fluid? if that all checks out, try disconnecting the battery overnight, and letting it relearn. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Motordrive" <motor To: <97up-list Sent: Monday, September 11, 2000 5:25 PM Subject: [97up-list] 1999 E-350 > > I have an E-350 V10 and under steady acceleration it is surging.
