This rough idle problem makes my F150 feel like an old clunker at adle! Mark Blume wrote: Gary, I have had the same problem since the day I drove my 99 home from the dealer. I can tell you what has been done that did not fix the problem. I can also tell you what was done the last time - and this MIGHT have fixed it. I want to give it some more time and some cooler weather to decide fully. Mine seems to show it's symptoms worse when its cooler. Date: Thu, 7 Sep 2000 15:19:56 -0500 I have a 1999 E-350 5.4L that won't idle when you first start up. If you drive for a while 15 or 20 minutes you can hear the engine pick up RPMs at idle and it will do fine. Until that point you have to keep one foot on the brake and one on the gas at stoplights so that it won't cut off. Once it finally cuts in it idles perfectly until you cut the engine off. If it sits for an hour or more the cycle starts all over again. What gives???????? I asked what's this mean, service manger told me its is a known problem and until Ford issue a TSB they can do anything yet. I suppose they know something must be coming down the road as far as a TSB. ------------------------------ End of 97up-list Digest V2000 #159 ********************************** ---------------------------------------------------------- Ford Truck Enthusiasts 1997 and Newer Truck List Send posts to 97up-list If you ever want to remove yourself from this mailing list, send an email to: listar To access the rest of this feature you must be a logged in Registered User Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts
