The fact remains, however, an F-250SD can be bought for about the same money as an F-150HD in Lariat trim. Also, I've been rather amazed at how well my 1990 F-250HD SC Lariat Diesel has held it's value on the used truck market. IMO, the F-250 is a much better buy for towing purposes. What is your take on LONG term depreciation between the F-150 and the F-250? Thanks, Butch Don't compare 1 year depreciation on F-150 vs F-250. Due to the fact that the Super Duty is so new, their bringing a premium used (so did the F150 when it came out), but once the newness wears off it will be comparable. If you go back to 1996 to compare, or compare Dodge's that's how to find out how much a 3/4ton will be worth compared to a 1/2. I begining to think that long term neither will be the greatest property. The market is getting so flooded with pickups that once the fad wears off (and gas prices go up) the trucks are going to get cheap. Sport utilitys have already started. Late model sport utilitys aren't bringing anywhere near book prices and are still droping. I expect trucks to do the same in a few years. Hehehehee.... Here's one for ya' I've had my blown (Vortech Supercharged) and Superchipped 7.5 Liter Crewcab Dually up over 124mph (estimated by a GPS receiver). And I say "up over" because I was slowing down after seeing Local Authorities on the side of the highway. If your familiar with "Gear Vendors Under/Overdrive" units, these also fool the PCM. If I use my overdrive unit with no Superchip installed, there should be a governor. But I simply leave my truck in overdrive and then engage my Gear Vendors Overdrive... this puts the truck in ultra overdrive. If I'm doing 90... I'm turning about 2100 RPMs. And being I've had the RPM up to 3500, this will tell you I was hauling some butt. AND on my 105MPH rated tires. But remember.... those 105 rated tires are a sustained speed rating. Not a short burst rating. Then again... who can sustain over 105 on any normal highway?! This brings this whole email thread question... I received a citation from a state trooper. He clocked me at 107. Wrote me for Reckless Driving. Oddly... I am looking to fight this being I have a top speed governor on my truck. Heck, the judge doesn't know about my Superchip or the use of my Gear Vendors Overdrive. And thus it makes the officers testimony null. SO HELP ME OUT..... Where's this evidence of a "TOP SPEED GOVERNOR" I'm looking for? Hehehehe... OK, so you want us to help you beat a ticket you admit you earned. You want to document the governor function, but neglect to inform them of your installation of a kit to cut it out. Do you understand what you are doing? It's called 'Obstruction of Justice', most of the time that is a FELONY. Then you want us to help you, that's called 'An Accessory to Obstruction of Justice', which can also be a FELONY. Also, the Stater will probably know about the governor function, they tend to be car nuts and well informed. They would know about kits to override that function. I suggest you forget the entire thing and pay the fine. A felony conviction would be reported to the INS and you would be headed home, never to return.(Assuming you are a Swedish citizen working in the USA for Erickson, like your address suggested). Other wise you could just end up in jail (and probably lose your job) >SO HELP ME OUT..... Where's this evidence of a "TOP SPEED GOVERNOR" I'm >looking for? > >Hehehehe... Keep it safe, >John Ya right, you have a ticket for Reckless Driving, that you want help to illegally beat, and then you say 'keep it safe'... ya right Oh yes, way I am at it, did you bother to read my request that people trim unneeded text in their replies? Your's had four footers and more header crap then was needed for your reply. Don't trust the u-build-it, because I know who built the u-build-it. Anyway, if you want the color keyed bumpers (about the only difference, aside from the damn cheezy sport sticker), do what I did on my Lariat. Have the dealer work a couple of non chrome bumpers (~$500 for the set) into the deal and have a body shop paint them to match. DON'T paint the stock chrome bumper, the paint wont hold. Yes, you do a little leg work here, but you get what you want. Joe - -----Original Message----- From: Kenneth J. Considering my email, it has nothing to do with my email thread. In fact, it has nothing to do with YOU. NOR does my job have anything to do with this mail or my ticket. I think it would be best you just keep to yourself on this one or go help the guy who needs to know about his flux capacitor that went out. > Ya right, you have a ticket for Reckless Driving, that you want help to >illegally beat, and then you say 'keep it safe'... ya right Even Mario Andretti can tell you to be safe. I'm sure your just even more peeved when I tow my 10k pound trailer passed you on the grade.... at 75MPH.... oh... I'm sorry... that's not safe. For that.. I'll never do it again "DAD"!! Heheheheh... The elements allow air to pass more smoothly and freely thru. The Air Tornado system causes turbulence. It's their premise that this turbulent air is more effective in heling with teh aspiration of the engine. If you looka t what they each claim to do, K&N and Air Tornado are at the opposite end of the argument. One smooths out the air flow, the other causes turbulence. I don't know if it makes one bit of difference, but I spoke to a performance specialist about this a couple years ago, and he said go with the K&N and do not combine the two. Just passing on what I was told. - ---------- >From: owner-97up-list-digest >To: 97up-list-digest >Subject: 97up-list-digest V3 #9 >Date: Tue, Jan 11, 2000, 12:10 PM > > Bill, > I have installed a Gibson cat-back, KN filter, tornado air intake > modification sleeve and a hyper tech chip.
