Small local dlr which has had new Ford computer less than 1 yr says no way to tell build or deliv date STILL, not sure he knows all ins/outs of Ford system. What info should he have now approx 2 mos after order, can priority be changed now? Can an option be added? If he didn't sell a lot of 97's he will have trouble getting 99's. Being a small dealer he has a higher percentage of available trucks than a large dealer. Until it is scheduled he can still change priority, but this probably isn't the problem. You can change options until the Vehicle is "locked in" (aprox. a week from production.) You can change everything except option package, and body type (I.E. F-250 S/C cant become a F-350). After it is scheduled you can't change wheelbase. Also any controlled commodity can't be added after the truck is scheduled (on a SD these are Tutone paint, and trailer towing. Nathan Bernard Union Auto, Inc. They said both the 5.4L and to 4.6L will go up 10 to 15 HP next year. The Expedition will also get auto air conditioning. They will get a 1 inch lower profile luggage rack, and some other refreshing (they got optional heated leather seats a month ago. They said the outside would get a light refreshing. This should give a few ideas of possibilities for the F-150 (in addition to the announced 4 door supercab). On the same note In the last magazine they sent me they had an article on the SD trucks and the F-800. They showed the F-550 having much more power than the F-800 (not normal practice to make your own trucks look bad in an article.) It also says "look for more Super Duty model coming in 1999". This tells me that (in my opinion) Ford is going to go all the way to the F-800 with the Super Duty line. Just my opinion but it makes sense as well as these trucks have went over. I have these seat covers and they have elastic cords that wrap around the back of the seat back and....... I can't get the damned thing to come out! I see this "U" shaped clip near the top of the seatback, do i push on them? Is there some proprietary tool you need to release the seatback? They fit inside the window tracks and are not stuck on with tape. They look like they are part of the original design of the truck. They can also be easily removed when the window is down. Did you get this for the Supercab or is yours a Standard cab? Thanks..
