This means you can usually buy one in mid Sept. The F-150 should be available at this time. It will have a 4 door supercab (probably standard). All of us at the dealership are hoping and praying that they never bring dual tanks back again. We had way to many problems with them over the years and one big tank gets the job done just as well. Since about 2,000 miles (I now have about 10,000 miles on it) this engine started doing it. It doesn't show up in the tachometer. It is pretty much constant at idle, but goes away above idle. The dealer says that it's inherent in the 5.4 L engine and that they get complaints all the time. They try to equate it to the rough idling due to the cams in yesteryears' muscle cars (which is not at all what it is like). Anyone else having the problem? Thanks, ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 31 Mar 1998 13:21:01 -0600 From: "Union Auto" Subject: Re: Rough idling 97 F150 w/ 5.4 liter engine The only 2 5.4L problems we have had is one had a bad injector (very rough running) and one had a bad spark plug (intermittent roughness). I have had no complaints of roughness. You should ask to drive a new truck with the 5.4L to compare to. This would prove or disprove their answer of "they all do it" Nathan Bernard Union Auto, Inc. - -----Original Message----- From: Jay Murphy To: Fordtrucks97up-Digest (E-mail) Date: Tuesday, March 31, 1998 12:06 PM Subject: Rough idling 97 F150 w/ 5.4 liter engine >Does anyone have any ideas on solutions to the rough idle problem that I'm >having with my 5.4 L 97 F150? You CAN get the F-250 crew cab with the plow/tow package and the V10, but it MUST be a shortbox, which you want. Josh ------------------------------ End of fordtrucks97up-digest V1 #42....
