Subject: Computer chip

Hello Gents,

I am considering installing a performance computer chip in my 2000 SD/PSD. I
have contacted Super Chip and got their sales pitch on the Super Chip. The
PSD owners that have installed Computer Chip in their trucks, please comment
on the following.

1. Did the Computer Chip improve the performance as advertised?
2. What happen to your fuel mileage? Did the mileage improve as advertised?
3. Did the exhaust on the truck release more smoke?
4. Did you install a turbo temperature or boost gauge?
5. Did the transmission shift differently?
6. Please give me your opinion of the Computer Chip and if you think it has
good value.
7. Which Computer Chip do you think is the best?

a. Hypertech Chip?
b. Super Chip?
c. Others.?

Thanks, Dave Burry, Denver Colorado

Does anyone know if Banks has a web-site - I can't seem to find one searching. If you know, please send URL -
I have a 2000 V-10 F250 SD SC - 3.73 -

Would love to hear any reports form Banks applications. Thinking about the Trans Pac and maybe a performance chip.

Thanks

A little off topic of the list, but what the heck- it's been quiet lately.
Anyone know what the HP rating would have been for a ~1984 F150 or Bronco
with a 302?

Can anyone on this list recommend a TOP QUALITY AFTERMARKET (high
performance? racing?) source(s) or manufacturer(s) for brake-pads, rotors
and calipers for a 2000 F-250 SD 4x4? I'm looking into replacing all this
stuff on all four wheels.

Subject: Trim Removal

I am about to install a CB in my 99.5 F350 CC 4X4 PSD LB. I plan to route the antenna to the rear sliding window for a glass mount antenna. I realize this is not the best antenna for a CB but I can't stand drilling a hole anywhere. I want to route the antenna wire under the plastic trim on the drivers side but I don't know how to remove this trim with out damaging it. Any tips would be welcomed! Also the antenna directions say not to mount to any glass with a metal foil in it. I have the extra dark factory tint in my windows, is this tinting plastic or metal film? I have entertained the thought of mounting the CB to the ceiling of the cab but rounting power up there and removing the headliner look like a nasty task.
