I am leaning towards using Mobil 1. Both Mobil 1 and Castrol Syntec oils are readily available here in my area. My dilemma is that the Castrol Syntec is cheaper by a bit over the Mobil 1 but I am thinking that since Mobil has been around the longest, it has the edge with more experience and development time over Castrol. I am going with the old adage that you get what you pay for! Am I right in this or is there no difference between them? Thanks! I have had Mobil 1 in it since I bought it new about a year ago I was coming home from vacation from Michigan (I live in Indiana) and right off the get go my radiator blew Antifreeze all over the road. well I decided to keep going instead of waiting for a state trooper to stop and have one of his towing companies gouge me $400 for a new radiator. So I set off for the 150 mile trip keeping an eye on my temp gauge my gauge got up to 337 when I pulled into my mechanic garage he was amazed that I was able to go that long with no antifreeze. We let the car cool down for about an hour then checked the oil it looked really baked but still liquid He told me if it wasn't for the Mobil 1 you would have fried the motor. I now have Mobil 1 in everything including my Lawn Mower So my point? you ask Mobil 1 saved my motor. Why would you go with anything else? and no I do not work for MOBIL or EXXON but I do have a speed pass!
