Can anyone tell me how to find out what my '97 Lariat had as
original options as shipped from the factory. Also was "Remote"
entry a part of power locks or was it another option.

we have that same truck. recent work was the lift pump went out at 34k, we
pulled a heavy
horse trailer to idaho from calif. and it started leaking fuel on the way
home (empty
trailer then). broken window motor when new.
we have it serviced by ford on their schedule. nothing else has gone wrong.
10 MPG towing
a heavy trailer, as high as 20 empty on the road. bf goodrich tires (ta?)
make it ride a lot
better.

you drive in, cold, hot ice snow, wet?

time.

I currently own a 78 Bronco and just today purchased a 97 F350XL CC, Power
stroke, 4X4. 32k MI. I have many Ford diesel questions ( I have been a
mech for years, and around diesels for the last 16 years) but not much
experience with the ford 7.3 power stroke turbo diesel. Most of those
questions will be answered by the FAQ and archives. BUT,, anybody have
access to a vin decoder for a 97? Anybody use there like vehicle in cold
weather? (I live in Fairbanks Alaska) What size tires are you all running?
looks like 295/75 16 is the largest truck tire I can get. Looking at BFG's,
been running these for years and had good luck. But never used them in a
real big, heavy truck.

congratulations on your newly procured truck. I have a mere F150, pretty
meager when compared to the F350, but I have always admired the bad boy

local could even come close to their
price. 265/75/ R16's i think the orig. tires were 235/85 by Firestone and
were crap. we drive in all conditions; we've got houses in N. Cal and N.
Idaho.
These are very good trucks; our PSD Excursion should be here on Oct. 11 and
we'll keep the '97 CC.
