I ordered a 2000 F-350 SD 4x2 dually a couple of weeks ago. I also ordered it with the Lariat package, V-10, auto, towing package, class IV receiver and trailer mirrors. The dealer hadn't received the available colors or prices yet. Could you send me a list of the available colors for the F-350 Lariat, or let me know where I could find it. Thanks, Bill in Cincinnati - - -----Original Message----- Date: Sun, 20 Jun 1999 15:31:02 +1000 From: "John ZaBelle" Subject: FTE 97up - Re-introduction, just ordered new truck This is my first post here in quite some time, so bear with me. I belonged to the 61-79 list a couple of years ago when I had a 1967 F-100. I'm glad to see that ken was nice enough to leave my truck on in the pictorial section (it's the blue shortbed), Thanks Ken! I had to part with it about 6 months ago, when Uncle Sam decided that I was needed in Guam. Well, I finally found a decent ISP here on "the rock", and I miss my truck so much that I just ordered a 2000 F-250 SD 4x2. I'm being told that I'll get it in November due to build date and long shipping time. I ordered it with the Lariat package, V-10, auto, 3.73 LS, towing package, class IV receiver and trailer mirrors. I'm having trouble with the color though. Does anyone have a picture of the "Harvest Gold metallic"? I would have liked the Prairie Tan, but it is being discontinued in 2000. Anyhow, I'm glad I found the list again. Every time I get the digest, it's almost like being back home. By the way Ken, the web site has really taken off, it looks better than ever! John Z == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jun 1999 07:33:38 -0700 From: STEPHEN_WITTE Subject: FTE 97up - 460 vs V10 This message is particularly for Nathan at Union Auto. In the last digest you posted a note saying that V10's "walk all over the 460". I was just wondering if you have any curves of torque vs rpm available. I bought a new '97 F350 14 months ago and I do find the 460 in it quite strong. However, I was never able to even determine the redline, so I arbitrarily decided to never go over 4000 rpm with it. Just knowing the peak torque and corresponding rpm and peak horsepower and corresponding rpm would help me out to understand this motor. By the way, this truck certainly feels solid as anything I've ever owned. Thank you... - Stephen Witte F350 4x4 CC SRW 5sp 3.55 == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jun 1999 12:20:45 CDT From: Robert Brown Subject: Re: FTE 97up - Re-introduction, just ordered new truck Seems like a dealer told me that some of the colors were simply being renamed for 2000 as a marketing gimmick. Pretty sure Prairie Tan and Harvest Gold Metallic are the same (I may well be wrong). >From: "John ZaBelle" >Reply-To: 97up-list >To: >Subject: FTE 97up - Re-introduction, just ordered new truck >Date: Sun, 20 Jun 1999 15:31:02 +1000 > >This is my first post here in quite some time, so bear with me. I ordered a '99 in August and it arrived about the 1st of Nov and it had the incorrect mirrors... Fleet Mgr said he couldn't swap them out for correct ones.. RIGHT.... Reordered.. and about two days later I went in and asked if I could change the order for an F350... sure no problem... months went by.. finally in early May I went in and inquired... wasn't scheduled.... get the picture... They gave me a great price but didn't required a deposit... still getting the picture. I got upset and emailed CAC... they did check with local dealer and reported what they gleaned... totally incorrect. I wrote back (I waited till I cooled off and wrote nice letters too) and they gave me a standard form answer and said they didn't want to discuss it any longer.... How's that for Quality is #1??? Even their Customer Care has much to be desired........ ARE YO LISTENING FORD???? Needless to say, I've kissed that dealership goodbye and have ordered another for a slightly higher price from a reasonably local TRUCK dealership... still a great price tho. But, how about that CAC? Don't seem very customer oriented to me....... I agree with Mr Brown....... Customer Assistance..... My butt.
