Also looking for one time items like front bug shield and grill guard. Grill guard, prefer light duty just mainly to hold the bug screen out in front of radiator. In Florida without one your radiator plugs up quick. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 02 Aug 1998 22:12:33 -0700 From: Tiger Subject: FTE 97up - New F-150 stalling and suddenly accelerating My month-old '98 F-150 XLT SuperCab, automatic, 4.6L V8 has done a few things that have started to worry me: 1. On the day after I bought it, it stalled at a stop sign. I thought that was no big deal since it was brand new... as long as it didn't do it again. 2. Last week while I was slowly driving in a parking lot without my foot on the gas or brake, as soon as I started to turn into a stall the truck suddenly accelerated forward on its own. Fortunately I was able to hit the brakes before I hit the other car. 3. Today when driving into a parking lot the engine just stopped when I started to accelerate a little. A couple people I know say this is normal for a new car with a "learning computer" that is trying to figure out how I drive. Shouldn't it have figured it out by this time? It's got 660 miles on it now. It's bad enough to stall once while stopped, but to suddenly accelerate or to stall while moving is another story, in my opinion. Should I take it in for service and hope they can adjust the timing somehow? Three problems in one month is still very intermittent. How many more times before I should worry? Is this problem common among new F-150s? Thanks. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 2 Aug 1998 23:46:38 -0700 From: Andrew Chung Subject: FTE 97up - Where can I get a hold of a repair or detailed manual for a 1998 Ford Explorer? I got one number from a dealer for Helm Inc. Does anyone else know of a good place to get a manual for a 98 Explorer? == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ End of 97up-list-digest V1 #171 ******************************* +------ Ford Truck Enthusiasts - 1997 and Newer Trucks and Vans ------+ | Send posts to 97up-list To access the rest of this feature you must be a logged in Registered User Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts
