I'm afraid I have yet to talk to somebody at my local dealer who truly knows these vehicles like you. I'm real appreciative of your input. Anyway, I want to the EB 5.4L with a towing package for the transmission cooler, hitch, etc, But I don't want to get a low geared rear end that will cost me gas mileage. (This vehicle will be a commuter vehicle and I'm not planning any serious towing.) I would like to get this so called "standard" rear end (3.55?) in limited slip. What are my options. Thanks. It is probably sitting at a mixing center. This problem has been helped greatly by the GM strike (we get their rail cars) but it is still happening once in a while. The dealer should be able to call the Vehicle destination management center and find out whats going on (things often mysteriously show up very quickly after calling). You should have a truck very shortly. Nathan Bernard - -----Original Message----- From: Russell A. All were Supercab shortboxes, Lariat, 4.6L, tan interior, and 60/40 seating. They could be 4x2 or 4x4 and came in Red, Black, and White. They had painted grille meshing, "50th anniversary edition" written on the seatbacks and floormats, 17" Wheels with Gold pockets (all 4x4's were Off Roads), Gold Lariat Stripe, Gold 4x4 Off Road decal (on 4x4's), and gold "50th Anniversary Edition" stickers above the F-150 on the Sides and tailgate. With the 5.4L the 3.31 is standard and 3.73 LS is optional. I have found that on ordering '99 EB it drops the 3.73 LS in automatically. I don't know if this is a glitch or standard. I wouldn't get anything but the 3.73 LS. This vehicle is so big that it doesn't get much for mileage no matter how their equipped, and gear ratio has less affect on mileage than on a smaller vehicle. I'm thinking of installing a CB Radio in my '98 Ford Ranger. I was wondering if anyone has installed a CB in their trucks(any model)? If so, what kind of CB works best? Where did you put it? I don't seem to have room in my truck. What type of antennae do you have? Also, I would like to get a radio that I can easily remove and put back whenever I wanted to take it out of the truck. Anyone have any ideas on that kind or any antennaes that can be removed easily. Also, how do you install it? And how much do they run. Thanks for you help. Looks like this particular transmission could be a weak link.. Or do these new trucks have a new unproven transmission? I've heard both stories. Want to get to the bottom of this issue. Modified e4od's have been used in lightning pickups with over 700hp. If towing i would get either a chip or a valve body that cuts down the overlap time between shifts.
