Got my truck back from the dealer thursday nite! They done a nice job lowering it ! I am very pleased, it looks much better sitting level, it drives better and rides better! Now I am going to get larger tires. I am going to go with a 33.5 tire it has 31.5 on it now. This should fill up the empty wheel space real nice. I am beginning to think that Disney's 2nd Law - "Wishing will make it so" may be valid in this case in that the advertised GVWR is selected for MARKETING reasons. If you rate the 250 the same as the 350 (SRW) then who will pay extra for the 350? Page 41 of the "Ford f-series ninetynine",section titled "Super Duty F-Series Features and Options Cont." lists the same "specs" for the 250 and 350SRW. The reason I am interested in all of this, is that I want to determine the acceptable tongue weight for my 250 - which is only about 1400# after subtracting the "wet" weight of the truck, cargo and hitch.
