Some will burn 1 quart in a thousand miles and won't use any more after that, and if you top it back off they'll burn that quart right back off again. But considering that their's 17 quart of oil circulating in the engine being one quart down isn't a big worry. When I first installed my dual bander in my 91 Explorer I had a couple of different problems. One was with the stereo bleedover and the other was with the Cruise Control... it would deactivate while transmitting. I finally eliminated the CC problem but never the stereo. On the explorer I had a glass mt Larson and it seemed pretty good but I ultimately went to the largest comet and drilled a hole in the roof. This helped the CC problem. The capacitance mt Larson was a problem for me Just wondering where you mounted your xcvr and how you routed your cable. Does it cause any problems with your onboard electronics? I think a good business might be for someone to come up with an adapter that replaces the light over the rear window... it's pretty useless anyhow... and tool it for the addition of a good fold down antenna, such as the Comet (or add your own choice) That would eliminate the drilling and one could save the light fixture for replacement at a later time when ready to sell. My experience is that their phone people wer sharp, knew their stuff. Just a lead, no guarantees. Most RV dealers have them. I just bought one for my '99 F350 SC Long Bed. It was $84. I'm using it for my camper. It fits great. Not sure who the manufacturer is.
