Thats fairly normal for a Diesel. Some will burn 1 quart in a thousand
miles and won't use any more after that, and if you top it back off they'll
burn that quart right back off again. But considering that their's 17 quart
of oil circulating in the engine being one quart down isn't a big worry.

I don't have my SD yet but I'm wondering what you have yours on.. gas/diesel?

When I first installed my dual bander in my 91 Explorer I had a couple of
different problems. One was with the stereo bleedover and the other was
with the Cruise Control... it would deactivate while transmitting. I
finally eliminated the CC problem but never the stereo. On the explorer I
had a glass mt Larson and it seemed pretty good but I ultimately went to
the largest comet and drilled a hole in the roof. This helped the CC
problem. The capacitance mt Larson was a problem for me

Just wondering where you mounted your xcvr and how you routed your cable.
Does it cause any problems with your onboard electronics?

I think a good business might be for someone to come up with an adapter
that replaces the light over the rear window... it's pretty useless
anyhow... and tool it for the addition of a good fold down antenna, such as
the Comet (or add your own choice) That would eliminate the drilling and
one could save the light fixture for replacement at a later time when ready
to sell.

Has anyon here ever installed Clarion auto systems in their vehicles I know
the 6-disk CD changer is made by Clarion (so Im told), but I mean like

systems? It is made by Clarion, but I have had a heck of atime finding any
dealers or information other than on their web site...

Mat;
You might try Crutchfield. I have used them ocassionally and had excellent
success. Have not bought anything in recent years but they did sell Clarion
at one time I believe. My experience is that their phone people wer sharp,
knew their stuff.

Just a lead, no guarantees.

Does anyone out there know who sells bed mats for a 1999 F250? I prefer
somewhere I can order on-line.

Thanks,

While they do make that, thats not the one I'm talking about (I don't need
one that fancy) :). But I was looking at some of their car speakers, and
also the Ungo Car Alarms they make, to see if anyone was pleased/displeased
with the quality of the alarms...

Most RV dealers have them. I just bought one for my '99 F350 SC Long Bed. It
was $84. I'm using it for my camper. It fits great. Not sure who the
manufacturer is. Try calling a few RV dealers who sell campers.

I had an Ungo I installed in my 97. It was a great alarm and when I get a
chance I'm going to put one in my 99. I purchased it mail order, from one of
those places in the back of Car and Driver or Motor Trend. They really cheap
when you install it yourself.

What's bad about living in California? ...how about too many people, not
enough water, and earthquakes.

Phil and Denton,

Thanks for the tips. Currently using a mag mount, and probably will for a
little while, at least. Can't bring myself to drill, or punch, a hole in
the roof just yet!!

How about too many taxes, politicians that think they're better than the
people they are supposed to represent, judges that think they know
better than the voters, illegal immigrants, an environmental
beaurocracy that ignores scientific studies that are in opposition
to their desires, ...
