Superchips has the only chip available for new and older 7.3's. The new ones can get a 50HP and 100lbs. of torque increase. Seems hard to believe but they have done it. I think the MPG increase is about 3 to 4> Not bad but the price is a killer! I ordered my F250SD, V8, 4x4, Lariat on May 1st. I took delivery on 25 Sep, 4 months and three weeks later. If your dealership ordered alot of trucks last year, they should have alot of allotments which cuts down on the delivery times. Its safe to expect 4 months. I look at it like Ford and Mercury. You have the Taurus and the Sable. You have the Explorer and the Mountaineer. You have the Rangers and the Mazda B-Series. Please try to keep your signatures to a reasonably small size. Signature sizes are getting out of hand. Our list archives are quite large and our virtual server size is limited. Along these lines, as my wife is found of saying... "when you come to our house, we'd prefer it if you left your pedigree at home." I understand there is a vent on the differential which may let water into the housing if it is submerged. Is there some way to re-route this vent so I won't need to worry about it? I realize it shouldn't be a problem but sometimes the lake is "up" when we ramp and water might wash over the top of the housing. Thanks, Steve Semenick == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Oct 1998 17:04:56 -0500 From: "Union Auto" Subject: Re: FTE 97up - differential I haven't checked on a SD but on everything else the vent runs up and then bends downward to create an air lock to prevent water from coming in if submerged. It is just rubber tubing so if you wanted to extend it upwards I don't think it would be a problem (but but the arch in it just incase you should hit really deep water) Nathan - -----Original Message----- From: steve semenick To: 97up-list-digest Date: Friday, October 16, 1998 2:32 PM Subject: FTE 97up - differential >I have a 99 F-350 which we bought for towing our boat. In Canada, all new vehicles around 1990 and up are required to have factory installed daytime running lights. Day time running lights are statistically supposed to reduce head-on collisions by ??? percent. I think it's a great idea in areas where winter snow conditions tends to reduce visibility on highways. I've seen quite a few for on the seat and between bucket seats but would like one for the floor so that I can store my phone and the other junk around the cab. Plese tell me how this chip fools the computer? If a chip for the 5 big ones works why won't a new ford computer for a smaller vevicle work? When you could rework pumps more performance could be atained but can you fool these new computers? Ive been told that they monitor exhaust system BACK PRESSURE change it and the performance is drastically impaired. Question for Nathan. I have never complained of lack of power this thing has plenty. By the way how big is a 5" muffler for one of these systems. Ive seen a 5" truck muffler and I don't want something this size dragging the ground from my truck. Any info on diameter?
