My window sticker & dealer's order book say Hydro-Boost, but mine was delivered with Vacuum boost...Which works lousy. Factory says vacuum is correct for all gas units with Hydro-boost "optional". Date: Wed, 24 Jun 1998 16:03:05 -0500 Thanks for the info Nathan, much appreciated JJ From: "Union Auto" Subject: Re: FTE 97up - Recall 97B16 What is this???????? I just looked the 97B16 recall up. It is only on certain Power Stroke F-Series. Apparently if the air cleaner is allowed to get EXTREMELY dirt (Plugged) it can suck in the sides of the filter and allow unfiltered air to pass. They will put new filter retainers in and on some trucks (depends on witch air cleaner lid you have) they will replace the air cleaner lid so it can't collapse. Nathan Bernard Union Auto, Inc. JJ - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Jun 1998 08:48 -0400 (EDT) From: STEVEN.BAKER Subject: FTE 97up - 99 Powerstroke Fuel Filter I have a brand new F250 99 Powerstroke with about 500 miles on it. This is my first diesel and I am having a problem locating the fuel filter. The manual is not very descriptive. Could someone give me a general spot to look in, standing in front of the truck, facing the engine? Is it easier to search for it from underneath? Also, I checked at the Autozone and HiLo in my area (South of Houston, Texas) claim they will not stock any 99 specific parts such as air, oil and fuel filters until the last quarter of this year. Are any of the parts from the 1997 usable? Or do I need to purchase this stuff from the dealer right now. I appreciate the help. After looking at the manual the hubs lock via a soleniod and some plastic tubing, and a different hub from the manual model. Any know how much it would cost to buy those hubs, lines and solenoid. That way you have manual transfer case and both auto and locking hubs. == FTE: Unsubscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Jun 1998 01:20:00 -0400 From: Claude King Subject: FTE 97up - Captain Chairs Has anybody ordered the captain chairs? the 40-20-40 are gathering complaints. == FTE: Unsubscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Jun 1998 02:56:22 -0400 From: Bill Yarnell Subject: Re: FTE 97up - Captain Chairs I ordered a Lariat CC 350 SD with the leather captains chairs. My current truck is a 93 F350 XLT with cloth captains chairs and it is very comfortable. I sat in cloth and leather 40-20-40 and they just didn't fit. the center fold down was just too high for an arm rest for me. I haven't gotten an eta on the truck yet, been ordered about 5 weeks. I did get a chance to sit in one with the leather captains chairs and I like them much better than the 40-20-40.
