It is still optional (except Lariat). This Aug. it will become standard on all models. If they do like they did with the 98 Windstar they will have a Job # 2 when the normal 99's come out that will have a few option and color changes Nathan Bernard Union Auto, Inc. == FTE: Unsubscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Jun 1998 08:32:10 -0500 From: "Union Auto" Subject: FTE 97up - Super Duty Ride height Kansas City region sends out a news letter to its dealers and this months had a couple of interesting parts. First a modification center has been approved as a ship thru modifier to get a 108" CA ib super Duty's. The ship through codes are 31F/D9E. The second note was that engineering has developed a service fix to lower the ride height of F-250/F-350 4X4. Some fifth wheel applications won't fit at the stock height so this will fix the problem (and make the 25% of the people that don't want a tall truck happy). It doesn't say what it includes but a letter is supposed to go out shortly. I WON 2nd place!!! I was actually there with the Merkur group and figured I would enter my truck since it is a new model. There was one other Superduty Dually Crew cab there. I guess the Superduty was a big hit if I got that many votes!!! My truck is still stock with only a Ford bedliner and a Weathergaurd Diamond plate box. Did anyone on the list attend? Does anyone know who won 1st place? I received a nice plaque to put on my wall. Thanks to anyone who voted for me. A few stitches missing in the rear seat back, a whine from the driver's side window (a new upper track on order) and a rattle in the dash-mounted cup-holder (I think) are about all the problems I've identified so far. I used Mobil 1 synthetic in the Explorer and plan to do the same in the F-150. Any comments on how long I should wait or does it not affect the engine break-in? It does knock a bit at start-up but based on previous posts that seems to be normal for the 5.4l. I would like to add running boards but haven't found anything I like on the web yet. I would like something that looks like it belongs on the truck and not just an add-on - but cheaper than the ones available through the dealer. Any comments would be appreciated. (Send direct mail to cpc007 or tenfore that sell custom equipment (No PepBoys or AutoZone stores). Perhaps I will have to make a trip down to Watertown, NY! The dealer supplied wiring information is pretty thin and I want to install my cell phone booster kit. I hope to use one of the unused terminals on the fuse panel - anyone know which ones are switched and unswitched? I would rather not start splicing wires the way the cell phone supplier did on the Explorer. Seems like a nice group you have here - my compliments to Ken for all the hard work he must put in.
