that quick delivery. 12 weeks plus is more like it.

When I put the 96P AIC kit in the ordering computer the following message
pops up.

INFO 96P AUX IDLE CONTROL KIT REPLACED BY
961 AUX IDLE CONTROL KIT
96P AUX IDLE CONTROL KIT ON HOLD 8/98

So the full function won't be available for a while, but I don't know how
much more it does.

The original order code for the AIC is 96P.

The Aux idle control is only available for the Power Stroke. The V-10 (and
almost all other engines) use a throttle cable that can be tied into to have
a remote throttle (for wrecker bodys, ambulances, etc..) The Power Stroke
is a drive by wire engine and has no throttle cable to tie into. This is
why the AIC is available.

Yes this is possible. The truck I got scheduled last week (F-250 4x4 XLT
5.4L) is schedule to arrive in 6 weeks. So it will probably take 8 due to
shipping delays (some show up a week early some two weeks late) but I have
all my sold orders scheduled so it would not take long to get one. You
should know as soon as you get a VIN, and if your close enough to Kentucky
that they'd direct truck ship (no trains) the date should be very close to
accurate.

Thought some of you might find this interesting. Looks like
theres a new giant in the automotive industry.

This came from an email from The Car Connection.

- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Itís a Done Deal! The world now welcomes a New Auto Giant - DaimlerChrysler.
Details of the merger between Chrysler Corp. and Daimler-Benz were announced
this morning in London by Chrysler Chairman Robert J. Eaton and Daimler-Benz
Chairman Juergen E. Schrempp. The transaction, valued at $92 billion, is the
largest industrial merger ever consummated. The new firm, DaimlerChrysler will
rank No. 5 among world auto makers, behind General Motors, Ford, Toyota and
Volkswagen. Catch a brief summary of the news conference, plus quotes from the
two chairmen, later today. Keep returning to our site, as new material will
be posted continuously throughout the day and into the weekend.

My 1998 3 door supercab F150 is great. I've got 2 little ones (7 and 6 yrs
old) and the third door makes it nice getting them in and out. I also like
the fact that the third door is on the passenger side so the kids jump out
curbside instead of into the street. If I didn't have them I would consider
the 4 door only after driving one to see how they flex. I don't find the
three door very flexy compared to 2 doors I have driven. 4 doors should be
that much more convenient. I have heard of people complaining about wind
noise but mine doesn't leak. Shuts as solid as the driver's door.

Hi Gary,
My guess is that your computer may be on the fritz. Don't let your dealer
jerk you around, it's too bad everyone can't be near a good dealer like
unionauto. If they tell you they all do this, tell them you want to take a
ride in one of their nice fresh new ones that do this. You and I know that it
won't and they'll have to resort to a new lie or try harder to fix it.
Good luck,
Robert Stout

Subject: FTE 97up - Recall

I got a message on a new recall for Super Duty F-series trucks. It only
affects SRW 1999's built between 1/26/98 and 4/24/98. It is numbered 98S16.
What it says (short version) is that the rust inhibitor used on the brakes
can cause the the parking brake to not stop the vehicle on a 20% grade.
Don't bother calling your dealer yet because Ford has not said how to fix it
or what VIN's are affected (some in this time frame might not be). I'll
post it when we hear something.

Phil
yes I have one it's great for packing stuff into the truck
[after 4 pickups with shells I'm not getting one for this one
just not enough visibility-- may get a hard tonneau]
the only drawback to it is that the door is on the passenger side
when I go to my local warehouse store & fill up w/ stuff
I park in front of the driveway to unload then [empty] pull
up to my spot in front of the house
the door on the pass side is good though for safety- as its usually
loaded on the curb rather the street side
no rattles or any problems
my $.02
