How many vehicles does your company own? If you own enough you may qualify
for fleet discounts.

Robert,

Jim Isbell Ford www.isbellford.com advertises any new Ford for $99 under
invoice. They can order your truck and have it drop shipped to the dealer of
your choice for a surcharge. The surcharge MAY be negotiable or not. If not,
they may be within a travel range your company can deal with.

Another possibility is to buy via your SAMs Club or Price Club or similar
buying service; typically for $50 to $150 over invoice.

Finally, talk to the dealer's fleet manager. I ordered a new Ford truck via a
dealer's fleet manager for $50 over invoice and then got a $750 rebate that
was announced after making the order. I admit it was pure dumb luck on the
rebate. The fleet guy said it was the first time he had seen a rebate on a
3/4 ton in many years.

Good luck, Butch Davis-

Hello Robert,

I enjoy your posts.

It's a long way from Dallas but I HIGHLY recommend the Jim Click dealer
in Green Valley, AZ. It was a pleasure for me to work with Bill Perine
there and I got a great price on a '98 F 150!

Hi List,

Just wanted to say thanks to one and all who responded, both privately and on
the the list for their excellent suggestions! When I get this task
accomplished, I'll let you know which way we went, and how it worked out.

Best Regards,

Subject: FTE 97up - Accuracy of MPG reported by consoles

I have a '98 Explorer Limited with the center console that reports fuel
usage and mileage. I wanted to find out how many others out there have a
similar console and how accurate they are. Mine seems to be off on both
the gallons used but not on the miles driven. This causes an error in the
MPG calculation. I've talked to one other person and their console is
almost dead on. The last two fill-ups I've been dead on, but I've kept
track since the first tank and sometimes it can be off as much as 1.5
gallons.
