What kind of body are you planning for your truck and did you order the regular cab or crew cab model? Also can you get a receiver hitch with the straight and narrow frame rails that come on the cab/chassis models. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Aug 1998 14:51:39 -0500 From: "Tony Davis" Subject: FTE 97up - '97 5.4 Newby Performance Questions Hi, I'm new to the list and haven't been able to find answers to these questions in the archives. If this stuff has already been covered, can someone send me the info direct? tdavis 1. What are the experiences with Borla and Gibson catback exhausts on the 5.4L? Particularly interested in what kind of sound, what kind of power increases, and effect on gas mileage. 2. Has anyone put the Antera 141 wheel on a '97 or '98 and how do you like them. I'm thinking about putting some 16x8s with 275/60-16 Bridgestone Duellers or Yokohamas on my '97 Supercab Lariat. 3. Last, anyone used a performance chip, pulleys or Stillen's K&N kit on the 5.4? Thanks for your help. Hello, I work for Perimeter Ford in Sandy Springs, Georgia and I have never heard of such a thing. In the event the noise progresses into something else its under Ford's 36 month 36,000 mile warranty. Or the buyer has the option of buying an extended warranty. I work in the parts dept., I see warranty claims everyday. I can honesty say the Ford F-Series and Ford SuperDuty trucks (including the Expedition) have the fewest warranty problems of any Ford car or truck. I have a 4.6 liter V-8 and its as strong if not stronger then the day I bought it. The 5.4 it a powerful engine with tons of torque, personally I would recomend buying it. Very Truly Yours, David M. The reason you cannot order a snow plow direct from Ford is because Ford does not sell enough to put money into stocking and building snow plows for trucks. Trust me your truck can definitly be equipped to have a snow plow. It is possible to put a snow plow on almost any truck or SUV. The Ford F-Series is the best selling truck for 21 years running, people that produce snow plows know this and thus it is not difficult to get one for your truck. Ford's Power Stroke diesel is made by International, and International knows a thing or two about diesels. The new V-10 gets much better gas milage than the old 460 v-8 gas, you may want to look into getting a V-10.
