The major auto web sites are all showing that Ford is offering 1.9%
financing for 2, 3, or 4 yrs and 4.9% for 5 years on F150s. The Ford site
shows that 1.9% is available but is not very specific. Can anyone confirm
that these rates are accurate?

Subject: FTE 97up - PURCHASE OF NEW F150 OR F250

Larry, you may want to consider the light duty F250 as a possible
alternative. I pull a full size 5th wheel trailer with my light duty f250
4x4. It handles the work load with no problem / 5.4 L engine 3.73 axle
ratio and has the extra weight capacity over the f150.

Aside from quality control problems I experienced, the truck has been
impressive and very powerful. Ford has apparently fixed their problem with
the 5.4 L engine on the 99 models.

Subject: FTE 97up - Ford trucks email addresses and web space (free)

There was an announcement made one week ago about offering
personal email addresses with Ford Truck Enthusiasts
(yourname ford-trucks.com). This service is now in place.
Additionally, we are now offering, on a first come, first
serve basis, free web pages!!!

Here's all the info, concerning the email addresses and
web space:

Email addresses (not free):
===========================
A. Pricing
- $2.50 per month with a $5 setup fee. Address is available
in 6 month increments so the initial cost is $20 for six
months.
- renewal every six months is $15 ($2.50/month)
- If you purchase 1 year in advance, the setup fee is
waived and your cost is $30.
- Additional addresses are available at the cost of $1.75
per month with a $2.50 setup fee for each address.

B. These are for personal use only, not for use by businesses.

C. Each mailbox has a 2 meg storage quota. That enough to
hold quite a bit of email when you go on vacation!

Web space
=========
A. We have about 4 meg of space available for personal/club
web sites.

B. We plan to offer 10 free sites, on a first come, first
serve basis. Space limitation per site is 409k. Doesn't
sound like much but here's some information put it in
perspective: the average picture size on our web site is
about 50k (70% image quality JPEGs), the average HTML page
is about 7k. You'll be able to put several pages on the
site.

C. You'll have FTP access to post your pages.

D. Your page's domain would be in the form:
http://www.ford-trucks.com/yourname/

E. Page domain names follow the same naming rules as email
addresses.

G. Web counter and form email scripts are included.

H. Site must have a link to our main page, we will include
a link to your site in our links section. We have a banner
you can link to but the banner isn't required.

I. Site must be Ford truck oriented.

J. Additional space will be available for $2 per meg, per
month for the first 2 meg and $1.50 per meg, per month
for every meg beyond that. We'll purchase this space
from our hosting company. Purchased space does not have
to be completely Ford truck oriented but should include
some Ford truck content.

K. Once the 10 free sites are given away, paid sites will
be made available at the costs listed above. (1 meg
minimum size). Purchased space does not have to be
completely Ford truck oriented but should include some
Ford truck content.

Combination email address/web sites are available. These email
accounts and web sites are used to pay for the **substantial**
monthly expenses we have, including the mailing lists which many
of you freely enjoy. We will never charge for the mailing lists,
but it does cost us quite a bit to provide the service and we do
appreciate it when list members help out.

If you want an email address and/or web site send me
(kpayne ford-trucks.com) three choices, in order of preference,
for your email/web site address. Addresses must:
1. be 8 characters or less. If you have a special need for
an email address that is longer we can setup an "alias"
longer than 8 characters.
2. start with an alphabetic character
3. contain only alpha/numeric characters

Also, send the password you would like to use. We plan to
put a password change utility on the web site as soon as
possible.
