My concern is with the "quad" cab SCs for '99. Will these take away any value of the two-door supercab models? BTW, when are the '99s due out? Thanks, Sven == FTE: Unsubscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Jun 1998 21:40:22 -0600 From: "Randy Kindler" Subject: FTE 97up - 97up questions Hi! I am a long time member of the FTE lists, but new to the 97up list. I currently have a '95 F150 XLT 4X4, 351, auto. I have been looking at '98 F150 extra cab 4X4s. I am very happy with my '95, but I would like the extra cab. The truck I am currently eyeing is a Light Prairie Tan SC, Off Road, 4.6, auto. I'd really like a 5.4l, but they seem to be quite rare. Dealers here don't want to deal on them much, either. I hope some of you "experienced" '97up owners can answer a few questions. 1. How do you like the 4.6? How does it compare with the 302/351. Should I wait for a 5.4? 2. Does the '98 use the E4OD and the 8.8" rear end? 3. Does anyone on the list have a F250 HD with a 5.4? How does it compare with the F150 in price? What kind of mileage do you get? Any advice or suggestions you might offer will be appreciated. I have rented both Expeditons with 5.4 and 4.6 L. IMHO I wouldnt waste my money on the 4.6. I assume you live some place with hills and enjoy moving fast! Dont be afraid to discuss what the other dealer said. If they dont give you a quote dont deal with them. ont be afraid to deal with a company 100 miles away, save 1000 dollars, why not, what does the phone call cost. BTW the local will usually match. If you can do your dealing on the phone, much less emotional They dont play that way? Either do you, leave your phone number, they willl call you back Good Luck Eric == FTE: Unsubscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Jun 1998 23:06:08 -0700 From: WiNk Subject: Re: FTE 97up - 97up questions My 4.6 does just fine with one person in it.
