Has anyone had any experience with changing the spring blocks in the rear to lower the truck bed height? I mainly bought the 4x4 for winter driving on pavement and the occaisional slick grass so don't need a ton of ground or wheel clearance. - -Leslie / ST. This comes directly out of the dealership and Ford does not help unless you use a new vehicle (which they don't help enough to be cost effective). I try to avoid providing loaners unless you bought the vehicle from me (with many exceptions of course). And I also don't if its a short recall (I.E. lug nut recall, SD steering recall, or F-150 shift cable recall) or an oil change. I hear many people talk about how great other companies can be for customer service but lets stand back and look. I know someone that is buying a new lexus. He is looking at a RX 300 (the sport ute thing) and trading his LS400. They are giving him wholesale on his used car and selling him the new one at full sticker. That means they'll make about $4,500 more than I would if he traded for an Explorer. If I made that kind of profit I could provide a lot of loaners and other things and still come out ahead. Profits are more than just sales. That's why I mentioned the bottom line. If Ford guaranteed everyone a replacement vehicle for every recall, it would drive prices sky high. You might as well go out and buy a high-end yuppiffied Mercedes SUV. Chad WiNk wrote: > > Nothing is FREE is right but everything that we pay for should be provided. If it says Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgment (DORA) this is the response from Ford telling you what they understood you to want. Usually when pricing I do it in priority 99 and order type 2 and if they tell me to order it, I change these after they leave. Here is the explanation of what these codes mean. Priority 99 means that the order is not buildable. It has to be 10-98 to be buildable. Don't get angry right away if yours shows this code, I order all my vehicles in Priority 99 and the next day (after looking at the print out) change them to the correct buildable order. This makes sure that if I typed in a 2wd instead of 4wd or some other major mistake it couldn't get scheduled until I'd proof read it. You may have gotten a Print out before they'd changed it. Order type 2 is a stock order. If you have a sold order (there are may types but usually a 1) it puts your name on the order and guarantees the pricing if it goes up before you get your truck. It does not guarantee rebates however. They are based on delivery not order date. Price level 911 tells what pricing scale was used. Super Duty's started in Jan. on level 910 this was changed when they realized the computer was not charging for CD players on Lariats. This led to level 911 witch is how that truck was ordered. This level is no longer valid. Now we are in 912 (prices went up about $100-200 per truck) If you had a retail order you get the old prices. I would call and check what they have currently for your trucks DORA. They may have changed these things but everybody makes mistakes so I would double check. Since your name isn't on the order they will have charge (or pay themselves) the price increase unless they did the appropriate paperwork when you ordered. And then again maybe this was just their first days print out and they changed everything to be correct the next day. However, we the public in many instances are not fully appreciatiave of what services are provided to us at no charge. However, it is GOOD business to cater to customers because it is a form of advertising for the business. How well the services substitute for advertising, and pays the business back is the fact that has to be analyzed. No PROFIT no service. Having a shuttle to home and back, or to work and back to the dealer is an extremely inexpensive and rewarding form of ADVERTISING and customer service that keeps a customer coming back to the dealer to conduct business. Now then, if a repair is under a new car warranty there isn;'t a loaner provision. If the vehicle is on an ESP then a car can be rented for five days under the terms of the ESP contract. If the car breaks down on the road then other facts apply under the new WARRANTY provisions. At times the dealer has mixed the ESP and the NEW warranty provisions. I mean that a rental car was provided for NEW warranty repairs under the ESP warranty. Who knows the difference ? I dunno Union Auto wrote: > I provide loaner vehicles to MY customers if their vehicle is going to be > down for the day.
