June 11 is the first day you can order. According to what I have read they
will not start building F-150's until 8/1/98 so arrival would be after that.
Usually presell started mid September with official introduction in Oct.
This year vehicles will be for sale as soon as they come in but it is at
least 3 months off. I am still ordering 98 F-150's for another week.

Subject: FTE 97up - 1999 Interior F-150/F-250>

I noticed that Ford/Mercury changed the backlighting on the all the
electronics and dash of the new 98 crown vics and grand marquis' to a
greenish color verses a blue color from previous years. Could this be the
same for the new 1999 F-150 since they use the same vendors for this
equipment? Does the F-250> have the blue lighting or the new greenish
color?

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National
Traffic and
Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Ford Motor Company has decided that a defect related to motor vehicle safety
exists in certain
1999 Model Year F-250 (over 8.500 lbs.). F-350/450/550 Super Duty Series
Trucks. This
condition does not exist in each potentially affected vehicle.

Safety Defect: One or more of the four rivets on the lower steering shaft may
not have
been crimped during the sub-assembly process. This condition could
cause one or more of the rivets to separate from the yoke resulting in a
reduction or loss of steering control and potentially a vehicle crash.

Repairs: At no charge to you. your dealer will inspect the lower steering
shaft
and, if necessary, replace it.

How Long Will The time needed for this service is less than one-half day.
However,
It Take? due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your vehicle
for a
longer period.

Call Your Call your dealer without delay. Ask for a service date. At the time
of
Dealer: repair, show the dealer this letter. If you misplace this letter,
your
dealer will still do the work, free of charge,

going to happen sooner or later.Otherwise the truck is awsome.Its a 99 crew
