It applies to 90 - 93 4.9L six's. After the first start of the morning, as the engine comes off fast idle it usually stalls. Sometimes it stalls the first time it's put into drive or reverse. Anyway the TSB involves adding an 85 degree ported vacuum switch into the input heater hose and using this temperature dependent vacuum source to control the fuel pressure regulator. What this is supposed to do is cut off the vacuum to the FPR when the engine is cold thereby raising the fuel pressure about 10 psi causing a slightly richer mixture. Has anyone tried this or have a better solution? Because of where the pipes run, the nice folks down at the Express Lube are unable to get to all the bolts to remove the tranny pan. In other words, they can't properly service the transmission. Has anyone else run into this problem? Or are they just under-tooled? I am not affiliated with them but I have purchased car and home audio from them for 18 years and have always been amazed at their service. I think they can tell you not only the factory original size speakers, but if you can go larger. I think most Ford trucks allow a 6.5 inch speaker with 3.875 inch depth clearance. I'm already looking at tires and so far I've come up with the B.F.G. Mud-terrain mounted on a modular-style wheel by Superior. The wheels I'm looking at are 15x10 and the Mud-terrains are 32/11.50R15. I want to buy big enough tires and wheels now so that when I get a 4" lift in about 8 months, the wheel and tires won't look puny. How do these specs on the tire/wheel combo sound? Will the wheel be too big for the tire? Thanks for any help. The F series had 3 trim levels: standard (bare bones) Custom Cab Ranger (highest trim level) Not until the early 80s did the Ranger become a small truck. So, no, it wasn't BS. You'll find a few full size Rangers on the web site. I am looking for a few answers to a few questions, first, I have a 1983 F-250 fwd, 351 motor, what kind of eec does it have? there is no provision to set the timing (distributor is bolted to block) , I have been told that this is an EEC-III system and I have also been told that it is a California Version of the EEC-IV , can anyone help? second, Is it possible to do away with the controls and sensors for this ignition system and install a Distributor with points or a Duraspark Ignition?
