Was on the phone w/my sister when I read the post and she may have a solution. Try spraying 'static guard' on the upholstery of the truck. I have been hearing some rumors about the new Ford diesels that are saying they are not as good and/or powerful as the 97 Powerstroke Pickups. My friend's dad is not getting a new ford Diesel (like he has every other year), He is sticking with 97 F-350 XLT crewcab powerstroke. If anybody can tell me the anything about the new diesel's power please do so. Thank you. /\ /\ /\ |~****~| `------` Ford Diesel Long Live The King POWERSTROKEMAN ______________________________________________________ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 5 Jan 1998 23:45:08 EST From: Lajone Subject: Re: If it fits you must.... not aquit??? In a message dated 98-01-05 17:16:58 EST, you write: >>My garage is exactly 267" from drywall to rubber on garage door floor seal. Truck is 257.5 + 5"for bumper = 262.5". That leaves at most 4.5". . . . . Looking for some feedback to help me make my decision. I have a 95 PSD F-350 duallie, crew cab. It fits in my garage with a full 1 inch to spare. After first couple of times, you'll get quite accomplished at pulling it in straight! I put a couple pieces of cardboard up against the drywall, helps to cushion the bumper--somewhat. I have always hated Dodge. This new body style will dissappoint many "Ford Lovers" and "Dodge Haters". Well since the body of a Dodge Ram has been a best seller might as well come up with a Ford version right? It might gain some customers--but hey thats what business is all about. Who cares about the 50 years of Ford tough trucks and all the supporters Ford has gained throuout! Has Ford gone desperate? This Really ticks me off; maybe me and some other dissappointed Ford fellas will go and buy a Chivy Truck. I want to know what you all think about this Ford Ram. Please tell me. /\ /\ /\ |~****~| `------` Ford Diesel Long Live The King POWERSTROKEMAN ______________________________________________________ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Jan 1998 21:01:38 PST From: "Steve Ford_Man" Subject: One More Thing Is this going to be the new Signature for Ford like dodge has done with all its trucks & stuff? If you were to sit right on seat and get right off >seat without the slide part. You would not get a shock. Just thought >you might like to know. >Mike Thanks for all of your replies, but this isnt the solution. I make it a point not to slide out of my truck because the seat will last longer if you dont. Ive also tried holding the door as I get in... I get shocked when I sit down then... I know it is probably static electricity, but where it is coming from is beyond me ! I dont slide my feet, I dont slide into the truck, and even holding (grounding) onto the door as I enter/exit I still get shocked sometimes. Any other ideas ? Ive been folowing the posts on the front frame rivets coming loose, and causing the front-left side to make soft clunking noises. I believe that my truck is having this problem. My 90 Jeep wrangler also made this noise, but I never found the culprit. Ive also seen that there is a TSB out on the problem. How do I go about asking my dealer to look into the TSB related problem ? Do I mention the fact that there "is" a TSB on that symptom or not ? And finally... Has anyone else heard of the loud whine/whirr/noise that comes from the engine compartment when its real cold out ? Thanks again ! To do this, first park the truck where it needs to be. Then, fasten the tennis ball (or whatever... if you want to use a baseball, go ahead) to a cord, chain, whatever, and position the other end of the cord on the ceiling so that the ball just touches the windshield. Fasten the cord to the ceiling. Now, drive into the garage until the ball touches the windshield, and stop. You're there.
