There is no guarantee that the 1999 Lightning will be put into production yet, much less with a Super Charger. I have a friend that works for SVT and he said preliminary 1/2 mi runs are 14.6s, which are damn good, but he said without the SC, the runs are around 15.7s, much like the current stock Lightning. I look for SVT to release the Lightning in 99 without the SC. - -----Original Message----- From: ss80xt To: fordtrucks80up Date: Thursday, January 29, 1998 6:24 PM Subject: Re: F150 STX? >Wait 'til you see the motor in the 1999 Lightning... > >Steve S. > >---------- >> From: Fast Ford >> To: fordtrucks80up >> Subject: Re: F150 STX? >> Date: Monday, December 01, 1997 9:07 PM >> >> Kinda like the Lightning? I have never seen a 454SS(Super Slow) or Dodge RAM Pace Truck run under 16.2's stock. With the stock Lightning running 15.6 stock that .6sec is quite a bit to make up in the 1/4 mi. I have run several of them here in Oklahoma and whether on the street or strip, I love to see them in my rear view mirror. - -----Original Message----- From: Gardner To: fordtrucks80up Date: Thursday, January 29, 1998 6:44 PM Subject: Re: F150 STX? >ss80xt >> >> Wait 'til you see the motor in the 1999 Lightning... >> >> Steve S. >> >> ---------- >> > From: Fast Ford >> > To: fordtrucks80up >> > Subject: Re: F150 STX? >> > Date: Monday, December 01, 1997 9:07 PM >> > >> > Kinda like the Lightning? With just Flowmatser mufflers, a K&N, NGK plugs, a brass cap and rotor, pulleys, and shift kit the truck ran 15.2s. Which is damn good for a truck weighing 4800lbs. With my current setup I am running 13.8s on street tires and 13.5s on slicks. Traction is my problem. I am having some Rancho Traction bars as we speak. That should get me to13.3s. Currently the truck weighs in at 4600lbs. I have added a roll pan and with the removal of the stock heads, which were 101lbs alone, allowed me to shed some weight. I also have a Vortech S-trim in the garage waiting to be bolted on. That should put me in the 12.2-12.5 range and will be my stopping point. If I go any faster I would have to modify my frame with a roll cage. - -----Original Message----- From: ACMERCG To: fordtrucks80up Date: Thursday, January 29, 1998 2:03 PM Subject: Re: 92' Bronco Engine Swaps >In a message dated 98-01-28 21:26:41 EST, fast ford > > >The > Lightning E4OD is a bit stronger than a regular F-150's. It will fit over the old tube and can be welded and bent. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 31 Jan 1998 20:41:36 EST From: Cerveza6 Subject: foldy To access the rest of this feature you must be a logged in Registered User Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts
