I am a newcomer to the digest so I am not sure if this info has been shared before. I found a site while 'surfing' called ALLDATA. Contained in this site is information on all domestic and foreign vehicles. When you access the site go to the consumer listings and follow the instructions. The info listed includes RECALL and TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS by number and the dates of notification. Some of the Questions that I am seeing asked I have seen listed in this site. One final thought. Save yourself some time, their is also a professional section in this site. This part of the site is for the trades and costs to access it; while the consumer site is free. Good Luck. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Apr 1998 07:25:59 -0600 From: "Patrick Vanderlind" Subject: F250 5.8 efi question I have a '89 F-250 5.8l EFI 4x4 5 speed with 3:55 gears. I am considering buying a 30ft travel trailer. It will weigh around 7000 lbs. Does anyone on the list use a similar truck with the 5.8 and 3:55 and pull anything close to this size with any luck? I will not be doing it cross country but more local (50-150 miles.) Will this truck pull anything this large? Also I would like to add a leaf to the front leaf springs. What do they cost and where should I go to purchase them? I got a quote from a local suspension place and it was high in my opinion. $75 each leaf and $140 installation. I found a different set of them ($20 set) but they were for the rear. (could this style be used on the front? Thanks in advance Tim '89 F250 4x4 351 EFI 3:55 5 speed manual lockouts ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Apr 1998 10:21:46 -0400 From: "Chapman, David P" Subject: RE: Trailer Wiring Question Scott, Your Ford dealer is "all wet". The adapter definitely exists. My 95 F150 EC 4x4 (recently sold) and my 95 Bronco (purchased 6 months ago) both have the trailering package. There is a (7 pin?) trailer connector bolted up under the rear bumper and a 4 pin adapter included. The adapter plugs into the 7 pin connector and your 4 pin connector from the trailer plugs into the adapter. I've never tried, but I would think you could purchase the adapter from Ford or maybe aftermarket. This goes in between the plugs that go to the tail lights. This is a round connector located in the same area you are looking for the factory plug. This "T" is very inexpensive and it is easy to put on. This will do the same thing if all you are doing is a flat plug with no need for an electric brake control wire for the trailer brakes. If so, you will need to run that wiring separate. Good luck. I fixed my little interference problem. I brought my truck back to Best Buy and the people who installed my electric sliding rear window cut a speaker wire (they deny this), which caused the interference. You guys were right.....it WAS a simple fix. Thank you for all your info. I printed out your replys and gave them to the guy at Best Buy. ...another electrical genious and he thought all your info was great and he learned some stuff, too. Once again, thanks.
