If anyone would like a IRS for their Ford (Now who would want something like that? :) ) check out a site that has a system for sale that will literally bolt right in place of your stock springs. Seems to be very high quality. Pricey though! $5300!! Due to be available in April. Their site is www.constantvelocity.com. Check it out! But does anybody know who makes a Billet Aluminum Grille for the 1987 to 1991 that comes with Cut-Outs and Mounting for Driving Lights in the Grille??? I've only seen this version of the Aluminum Billet Grille on a couple custom F-350 Turbo Diesel Crew Cabs. Several Catalogs have the Standard Billet Grille. Anyboby who has such a grille or knows where I can get one I'd appreciate a reply here or directly. I have done all the normal things you might expect with no real improvement. A poster to this net suggested that I try plugging the vacuum line to the EGR and that did correct the missing, although now I have a little "stumble" upon first accelerating from dead stop. While I have all the Ford shop manuals, I am a bit confused as to where I might look for the vacuum problem. The EGR appears to be operating properly but it sure runs better with the vacuum plugged than it does with the vacuum hooked up. Any suggestions? Get a vacuum pump (hand-helds can be had for ~$30) and test your EGR diaphram... if you can't hold vacuum, replace. I check ALL vacuum operated valves when trying to track down a vacuum problem... sometimes the things that leak come from the darnest places: vacuum advance open, A/C vane actuator, heater actuator, etc. Take care. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Jan 1998 15:17:00 EST From: ACMERCG Subject: Re: diferences in automatics? I have only owned the truck a couple of months. When I first got the truck it wouldn't always idle in park. I run a couple of bottles of injector cleaner (fuel additive) thru the system and it helped. But now the engine runs very fast in park and when I shift into gear the engine all but dies. I wouldn't try pulling my 2500 lb camper w/the bumper for sure. But it seems fine for log splitters are the like. Also, you want the top of the ball about 18" from the ground for most ball hitch trailers and most truck bumpers are too high for that. I know my F-250HD 4x4 is! In fact, I have a 7" drop on my 2" receiver which is already about 2" below the westin 6" drop step bumper. Whitney catalog shows two different hitch boxes that mount on bumpers and both are rated as Class III at GTW 5000 lb and Tongue weight of 500 lb. Hope this helps. Without re-doing it to death, any recommendations (other that Mr. Dealer) where I could get a full-size rubber mat and insulation for an '85 Ford Ranger? How does JC Whitney do for this sorta thing? (Haven't had a catalog of theirs in years.) Also - anyone in the Balto/DC area who could recommend a good source for a front bench seat (other than Bowie Truck Parts-don't get me started) could you mail me off list, since I don't wanna catch hell for wasting bandwidth with a 'local' question.
