For those that can't wait to see a 1999 Ford brochure, I've found that the Dodge 98 Ram brochure is a pretty interesting read. If you study the Ram brochure, and figure that Ford will "raise the bar" across the board, you can start to get a good idea of the specifics that Ford will be offering for the 1999 Trucks. In addition to the good info that Josh has been sharing, you get a clear picture that Ford is gunning for big-time bragging rights. To be clear; I'm not trying to start a Dogde vs. Ford war. Additionally , 1998 prices are available for the Dodge trucks, (kbb.com) so you can get a ball park on the prices, that you can bet are going to be competitive with Ford. Some samples: v10 trailer/5th wheel tow capacities are similar or better than Dodge. model, bed, cab combinations are better or on par with Dodge 6 speed manual vs. 5 speed manual F350 GVWR is 500 lbs more than Dodge Ram 3500. PTO option now offered on Ford. Possibility of Intercooler on PS (which is showing up on Dodge). stuff like that... Happy reading. - -john ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 3 Oct 1997 13:32:29, -0500 From: KNBD87D Subject: Re: 1999 F-250 HD+ specs Kent, The F150 and F250 under 8500# GVWR are 1998's. The new "SuperDuty Series" are for 1999. There are no 1998 F-250 HD series. Brown" Subject: E4OD experts -- ADVICE Anybody try a Banks Transcommand or a JET shift command for the E4OD? They wire in between the EEC & transmission & adjust shift firmness electronically. Both are supposedly compatible with any valve body upgrades. The JET Shift Command has 4 settings, while the Banks just has on/off. I'd be interested to hear any experience with these gizmos...especially to see if the EEC-IV can learn its way around em. I don't believe it could, cuz it's not in the closed loop feedback...kind of a one way deal to shift...
