The former is at the output side of the crankcase air flow, while the latter is at the input side. Re: Spray on bedliners My next door neighbor has a 95 ranger with a spray in liner, paid about $325 hear in Atlanta. Best thing about them is you don;t have to bolt everything down to keep it from sliding around like mine does. 91 Ford Ranger ext cab 4.0, 5 speed Atlanta, Ga - --UNS_gsauns2_2697066586-- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Sep 97 07:33:45 PDT From: David Hertzberg Subject: CDR Valve replacement in 7.3 Have any of you diesel owners out there had experience with the CDR (crankcase depression regulator) valve in the international 7.3 liter? The valve is located on top of the engine, just behind the air filter, almost against the firewall. To get to the valve you have to remove the air filter assembly. Specifically, I'm wondering whether it is a part that needs to be changed, since it functions more or less like a PCV valve on a gasoline fuel injected engine. According to a Haynes manual I picked up a few years back the CDR valves on the 5.7 and 6.2 liter diesels in GMs, I believe, need to be replaced every 30,000 miles. Manual does not say whether this applies to the 7.3--only gives instructions on how to replace it. I would be very grateful for any wisdom/advice. Thanks. David H. I never had any problems with it except for a few nicks that I put in it w/ a sharp shovel. There are also other brand names of spray-in liners that are also good. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Sep 1997 06:28:11 -0700 (PDT) From: Carl Warren Levin Subject: Spray on bed liners I have one of those rubber throw liners. It is thick thick rubber and stays in place and seems to do the job. I like it and it was about 100 bucks. It will save money in the long run. That way you don't have to replace it every 3 months. :) Or go to the dealer for a $25 air filter (back when I had no choice). .---. .----------- / \ __ / ------ / / \(..)/ ----- ////// ' \/ ` --- http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.FordManTed.com (Mustang Shop) //// / // : : --- http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.FordRanger.com (Ranger Site) // / / /` '-- // //..\ =======UU====UU===[silent.bob '//||\` ''`` ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Sep 1997 10:06:54, -0500 From: KNBD87D Subject: RE: Internet Message James, You are wrong.
