Should be here in about a week and a half. No, they're not as monsterous a size as the Roush stuff, but will be sure to post some pics to my web site when the stuff comes in. -Vic ------------------------------ From: "Wallace A. I have a 87' escort wagon (I know it isn't a ford truck) anyway, this particular car has been giving me trouble and I just can't figure it out. It is usually dead in that it won't start, has fuel pressure, new fuel pump & filter, new ignition coil and a tune up was done on it not long ago. On the other hand sometimes it will run for days B4 not wanting to run any more. So I check the computer for codes, it is an EEC-IV just like on the trucks. I get codes 14 PIP circuit failure, 87 Primary fuel pump circuit failure, and 33 EGR valve fault not closing properly. I have checked the complete ignition system coil, wires, connections between computer & Ignition module, ignition module, hall effect sender in dist, timing, grounds for computer, fuel pump relay, inertia switch, fuel injector. I have tried to wiggle wires when the engine stays running for a while. I found the pow These are the things I have noticed, I hook a timing light right off the coil wire and watch the light flash and right b4 the car dies the timing light goes out for a short period of time and the tach goes all the way to 0 and kind of flutters up and down until the engine dies. I just want to know if there is any trick to testing the TFI ignition system on these Fords so you know what is wrong. Or should I be checking something other than the ignition, perhaps it is the EGR and nothing to do with ignition, or a bad computer. I AM LOST PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!! or this car is dead Anyway sorry for taking up so much space I appreciate any help I can get it has been driving me crazy for months now. Vic, I'd sure like a link to the pics once you get them uploaded. I'm thinking about ordering the Ford Lightning suspension or maybe go with some GOOD after market racing suspension. Anyone have any suggestions on that? Michael bigmike uidzero "..It don't mean a thing if you cain't get that Ping...." The water-pump died 2 days ago. I got a new pump, and borrowed the special tool kit from Auto-Zone to remove the threaded type fan clutch. However the special tool from Auto-Zone doesn't seem to fit properly. The tool box is labeled correctly as the fan clutch removal tool for the ford 4.9L engine. The tool is marked as being a 1-7/16" wrench. I measured it (the tool), and that seems to be correct size, but it doesn't fit the nut it is supposed to in the fan clutch assembly. Is 1-7/16" the correct size for the tool? or is there something wrong with the tool? Is there something funny/nonstandard about my truck? or am I completely missing the boat on this? Any replies or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
