I did this job on my 1980 F-150 a few years ago and it was not that
hard.  I am not sure of the differences between mine and your F-250. I have
a shop manual and it gave very good directions. I did the wheel bearings at
the same time (while it was apart).  Getting the old races out was a trick,
with no puller designed for the job.  I applied a big hunk of dry ice to
supercool the metal to shrink it and the race just popped right out with a
tap from the back side. Tapping new race into clean axle housing was easy.

C&H Sales Co. has a 12 volt  DC solenoid operated stainless 3-way valve

I am afraid this project is going to result in engine damage. I have seen
Ford Y-Block V-8s with holes burned through the head of a piston and the end
burned off the end of the spark plug and the cause was a very slight water
seepage into the affected cylinder from the steel shim head gaskets they
used then. S. Falkner
