Dang it!!! In my test drives, two full day drives (one pulling boat about
90 miles) by me, and one by my Dad, and lots of short drives, I thought I
had a perfect E4OD in my '90 F-350 Crew 7.3. Today at lower speeds like 50
ish, hit the power to go, and get a shudder. Seems to recur somewhat
rythmicly. It's full of decent looking and smelling fluid. The dealer gave
us a warranty, but I wish I could get it done at a performance shop. As
long as I stayed out of OD today, it never did it at highway speed, then
had to slow WAY down for an idiot, and when I got an opening...shudder.

Life sometimes ain't nothing more than trouble!!!

My Dads '91 F-150 5.8/E4OD gets pretty miserable mileage. At least one
motorhome owner (admittedly with a 460) has reported favorable results. And
Jegs has MSD 5 for $78.99. Plugs-Wires are fairly new, although his old
Ranger responded well to Bosch Platinum, this got standard Autolites.
Anyone else with 5.8 using Bosch with good result? The truck runs great,
will slaughter my 5.0.....

So???????

I just ran the Ford Truck Enthusiasts server logs for the first
time in several months. WOW!

A historical perspective: it took us slightly over 2 years
to reach 1 million visitors.

As of March, 2000, FTE is now receiving over 300,000 visitors
per month!

Expect **more** free services in the near future. We've added
the archive search, updated message board software (if you haven't
been by the message boards on the web site lately, you're missing
a large and rapidly growing community) and free web based mail so
far in March. We've got a few more items upcoming in the next
two weeks.

Thank you to everyone for making us a success!

Do F250 rear springs fit onto the F150 hangers and perches? Did someone do
this swap? Which springs did they use? I remember reading a thread on
something like this and would like to do the same swap to my 92 F150...

Thanks...

Dave,
If you want to go with an MSD box, I would at least run the 6A or the 6AL. I
have the 6AL and I love it. The spark is double the stock output and if I
stay off the pedal it gains me 2-3 mpg city, double that highway. The 6AL has
a rev limit feature, and more diverse features than the 5A. I would also go
with their Blaster TFI coil that bolts right in to the factory location. You
will have to get the adapter harness that plugs right in to the Ford ignition
harness. My total investment on the ignition system including the above parts
is about $200. Worth it IMHO.

Hi Dave,
I'm just a little confused, do you want MSD or Plugs ?
If your asking for an opinion on MSD then by all means go for it, but why not
go for one of the 6 series boxes ? I'm using the 6al on propane and very happy
with the result. Just make sure you budget for the extras, i.e. cap, rotor,
coil, leads, etc ........

If you go with MSD, are the type of plugs still as important ? I don't know,
but regular ngk's at 060 thou gap are running just fine, in a 5.8 lt. Cleveland
V8

Now if I could get the 6al to run on my Victa lawn mower on 96 octane fuel, I'd
buy one for that too..;-))

... but I'm still having fun in a Ford on LPG ...

I would use a known brand of filter, inexpensive but a name brand as you are
just going to capture particles in new oil for around 3000-4000 miles. I
don't think spending huge amounts of $$ on a short life filter is as
important as installing a good grade of oil, synth or petro based. Just my
opinion.
