I would simply explain to him, and his boss, that the truck would be in the
custody of the local Ford dealer whom they would be paying for the
replacement of all necessary parts, and ask him where he would prefer to rent
my loaner car for the time that it took to get it done.

it upon himself to examine my Tie Rod Ends for excess wear after hearing
the signature pop in the front end when moving my truck. As many of us
already know this pop is nothing to be concerned about for trucks of my
type. Anyway, the boob ruined the tie rod end rubber boot when removing
the tie rod for inspection>>

[PS: I've got the same type of truck. Is yours a Powertroke Diesel? SS]

Subject: FTE 80-96 - Knoxville Transmission Rebuild

Hi guys. Can anyone recommend a good shop in the Oak Ridge/Knoxville area
for a rebuild/upgrade of a Ford automatic? A friend in the area needs a
rebuild. He tows and he'd like to improve on what he's already got. This
is for a 1992 Aerostar.

Have you check whether or not the fuel filter has been replaced. A
simple item, but it could be the culprit in your particular instance.

Subject: FTE 80-96 - 80-96-list (What Went Wrong)

As I was driving my 1984 F-350 Crew Cab single rear wheel truck across a rail
road track at about 15 mph. The rear wheels locked up and sled to a stop just
like it had been pushed into park. It would not move forward but would back
up. I started forward again and after about 5 feet it locked again. I backed
up one more time and started forward and nothing has happen. It's done great
after that one time. I have put over 200 miles on it, and ever thing seams to
be great.
What could it have been? Would like to hear what you have to say or has this
happen to any one else
