Be very leery of cheap body panels. The J.C. Whitney panels in
particular are lighter metal than the original and the dimensions and
contours don't even come close to the original. I have been told that
the cheap body panels are made in "developing countries" using worn out
dies sold by Ford (and others) after they are done with them. A friend
bought a Whitney tailgate for his F250 and had a terrible time trying to
get it to fit well enough just to sell the truck.

A search of the Web should turn up plenty of suppliers. I receive
catalog flyers regularly from "Ohio Truck Parts" who seem to have a nice
line.

here they are
Action Body Panels (313) 534-7500
Sherman & Associates (810) 677-6800

As to other responses, I agree that the JC Whitney parts are somewhat
inferior to stock quality, but If you are like me and just want a rust free
daily driver, they are much better than anything I could get from a Detroit
junkyard.

However, I have found JC Whitneys repair sections to be of superior quality
to most of the aftermarket suppliers. I had purchased some wheel arch
sections for another vehicle, and they fit so well, went on easily, and
blended in very smooth. I have this vehicle still (after 7 years), and rust
has not even been an issue with the wheel arches since they were replaced.

So -- Unless you are looking for a show vehicle, or are a perfectionist.
Just check out some of the "third world" parts. You might be mildly
surprised how easy they go on, and for me I personally detest sanding off old
paint, having to remove my old body part, and one at a junkyard, dealing with
wear, and any prep. Just bolt it on and spray. ------ hope this was
helpful.

country as is, we need to get past that part of our history>

Race relations are not as bad as you think, if that were so there would
be no Opras, Michael Jordans, etc.,etc.,etc., Latrine Sprewell would be
in jail for assalt, Orenthall would be pushin up flowers, and Jessie
Jackson would have a real job, most people are out everyday trying to
make a livin, and don't have time for all this crap.

This is a good country, not perfect, but the best on the planet for now,
and it will all go away if the liberals "democrats and republicans" keep
people divided into "groups". They want people to fight, otherwise
they're irrelevant. When you watch the 6:00 news, pay close attention to
the crap they plant. Most people know it's BS, besides "dumb" you
outgrow, "stupid" you're stuck with for life, and ain't much you can do
with stupid people.

Proud to be a so called "white boy" AMERICAN, and I ain't leavin no
matter where my ansestors came from, or did, it's not my problem, or my
fault, it's history, that's why they call it that.

Gettin off my 4th of July soapbox to put on my "firesuit", and remember
why we're celabrating, it was Henery Ford that had all immigrant workers
walk in one side of a "outhouse lookin thing" dressed in their native
garb., once inside change clothes, grab an American flag, and forget
where they came from. Freedom has a small price.

We are scattered all over the US and Canada, from Alaska to Florida.
Regional get togethers would seem reasonable, if people are interested.
There have been a few annual meets at Pigeon Forge for people who live
within reasonable driving distance of there and were interested in going.
Mostly southeast, I believe (I did not go).

We could establish "midwest" regional meet at the Detroit show you mention,
if you want to organize it. I'm a bit too far south to make it, but members
in the Michigan, Ohio, Western Penn. area (and others) would probably be
interested.

Go for it!

Yup.
You've got an objective point of view.

o Ever been asked to leave a store, just for walking in?
o Ever have a security guard follow you around a store, just because your
skin color is darker than his?
o Ever been denied a job, and been told that you weren't qualified, even
though you've got higher level education in the subject?
o Ever have people cross the street, so they don't have to walk by you?
o Ever seen disdain in someone's face for no reason other than the color
of your skin?
o Ever been to Harlem or Compton, and experienced what's it's like to
be the minority?

Until you have, you've got no room (or right, for that matter) to judge
race relations in this country.

(PG DOWN)

Now, reflect on what you thought when you read the questions above.

What's my race?
How do you _HONESTLY_ feel about that?

If you're honest with yourself, you'll realize how bad race relations are.

Please understand that I realize that some of you are _not_ racists, and
are going to view me as just another "person"

BTW, surprise boys, I'm white, from the south, hunt, fish, drive a truck,
and listen to country. Sound familiar?

Hi Jim ,
Thank you for you comments, mine wallows enough already, it's a pain in
the A## when you don't quite get what you pay for. I guess I was trying to
cover all bases by going to an adjustible shock.
When I first bought my F100 I was told that the Rancho's were the 'duck's

been neither confirmed nor denied on this list or any where else for that

Sounds like a head gasket to me. Not really that big of a deal. Get the
oil/water out of the pan as fast as you can. Pull the plugs (all of them)
and find the cylinders with the water in them. (I'd bet #5 and #6.) Syphon
or somehow suck all the water out of there. Squirt 30W motor oil in all of
the sparkplug holes to keep things loose until you pull the head.

When you pull the head off you ahould have it inspected to look for cracks.
You should also have it checked for warpage. They almost always are a
little warped and a machine shop can true it back up for you. If cracked or
really, really warped, (has it ever really overheated bad, the you know
of?) then get another one at a yard that is straighter and rebuild it.
Depending on the miles on the engine since last overhaul, I'd recommend
doing the valves while the head is off. Have a good machine shop so it. New
seals are important. Don't buy cheap ones, they suck up too much oil too
soon.

Slap it back on and torque it down per shop manual pattern and torque.
Remember to follow the correct pattern on the manifolt nuts/bolts also, for
years of carefree, leakfree driving. Most people tell you not to bother
retorquing the head after you drive it a while, but I always do. It only....
