I know that this is not exactly the right place, so please excuse me for the year difference, but today my best friend bought a F series Truck. The Frame is from a '76, and the body is from a '79..... and it's got what the guy said as a 360 cu in, the valve covers are marked Mercury... but he said that it's the same as a 352,390.... Question 1, which Title should he use to title this, the frame or the cab ? Question 2...... The brakes act funny, by that I mean, when you press on them, they go to the floor. You can pump them, build up pressure, and they work ok, until you go to stop again... then it goes to the floor! Is it the master cylinder, I bled the brakes? Or could it just be more air in the lines in the front? Thankz for any help, his wife'll really appreciate it! Right now she doesn't like it! == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: 5 Jun 99 20:17:43 PDT From: William Berninghausen Subject: Re: [FTE 80-96 - Brake Prob...] Most EPA/DEQ/state organizations use the engine to date a vehicle. Pedal goes to floor? builds pressure and loses it? no leaks? Pressuriz= ed fluid in master cylinder is leaking past the piston--replace or rebuild i= t. = If there aren't puddles of brake fluid, the mc is the only possibility I = can think of. = Gotta be more or better opinions out there.
