It may be a little hard to find a solid model, or wireframe model even, for that truck in AutoCAD format. I also use IDEAS and AutoCAD at work and I checked around the IDEAS community for a model of what you asked for, or anything close, and didn't get any responses. I know you can't use an IDEAS model but I can convert IDEAS solids to AutoCAD solids here at work if you do find it. If you go to http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.sdrc.com/partners/iccon/mlist/ and post a message like you did here, except ask for an IDEAS model of the truck, or something close, you will have a better chance of finding it. Someone may have already created or converted the model themselves for AutoCAD but you will have a better chance looking for the format Ford themselves use. Let me know if you find it and where to get it and I would be glad to convert it for you. Good luck, Scott - -----Original Message----- From:Amos Pressley [SMTP:virtumec Sent:Thursday, May 20, 1999 7:34 PM To:80-96-list Subject:FTE 80-96 - F250 CAD drawings Hello, I have been given a request from a old friend who is a missionary to the Dominican Republic. Fresh water is a hard thing to find in the villages where he works. In response, someone has donated a mid-80's model Ford F-250 truck, with plans to add an engine and drilling rig to the back so that they can drill small wells with it. He has asked me to draw a representation of this modifiction so that he can show it to the churches that are interested in supporting this work. Not wanting to start from scratch, I have looked on several websites for existing 3d CAD files (DWG, DXF, or 3DS) that I can modify for this, but have not come up with anything yet. I was hoping that someone could point me in a direction where I can put this together without having to go out, find a truck and an engine, then physically measure and draw it in order to make it reasonably accurate. Can anyone recommend a resource? Amos Pressley PS For what it's worth, I have known this missionary since he was a teen. He is the real deal - - self-sacrificing, compassionate, and truly interested in the physical and spiritual welfare of others. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 May 1999 16:30:34 -0400 From: Ken Payne Subject: FTE 80-96 - ADMIN: Peggy Hi All, I would like to make a request. Please talk to your fellow truckers and find out about auto shows in your area. They don't have to be Ford specific or truck specific. If you have a form or flier, great! You can fax it to me at (770) 806-1955 or mail it to me at PO Box 422, Lilburn GA, 30048. If all you have is a rumor contact me anyway. I've learned of five shows in the last 24 hours, just by calling for info on one show. If you are wondering what this is for, Ken and I would like to meet more of you, and we know that Pigeon Forge is a long way for some of you. So we are going to try to see if we can go to some of these other shows around the country. I appreciate any help you can give. Hello, My 90 F-150 with a 5.0 is stalling at idle when the AC is on, and I turn the wheels sharply. This happened about 40k miles ago, and the shop cleaned the idle air control valve and replaced it. That solved the problem. As long as the motor that drives the valve is good, I assume all it needs is another cleaning, or replacement. Now, my question! If I just clean or replace the IAC valve, is there any adjustment, or special orientation I need to do before I reinstall it on the engine? Thanks! While this is not by any means Ford specific they do run Ford F 250s and 350s in a class, as long as they are diesel and there are a number of antique trucks on display in the pit area. This usually takes place in September or October . There is also a group that puts on antique car/truck shows called Long Island Custom Cars. If i see any of their ads around i will let ya know. Please keep me posted on any events in my area.. My son and I love to go to these things Bob == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 May 1999 23:52:04 -0500 From: Jim Cannon Subject: Re: FTE 80-96 - Last of brakes!!! Good news, Dave! So, it was (is) the tires. How strange. I suggest you replace the slightly worn radius arm bushings and your uneven tire wear will get better (but still be a bit of a problem). Fairly esay job. Isn't US59 a pain! (Not I-59, but they say it might be I-69 some day. I can't belive they'd name a road that!) If you get going just the right speed you can build up some wicked oscillations in the suspension. Later!
