Knowing that is Macco a good place to have a paint job done? I have heard alot of bad things about them but everyone that doesn't like them. Seems to expect base coat/ clear coat quality from there enamel. Can any one tell me if they are a decent place? Sence the enamel has lasted this long and the price is so much cheaper I'd like to stick with it. From: "Tony" To: Subject: FTE 80-96 - What is a Lariat? Date: Sat, 15 Aug 1998 22:24:11 +1000 Reply-to: 80-96-list I have recently purchased a '86 F150 Lariat 5.0 litre. Can anyone tell me what the Lariat insignia means. Do they have options that other F150s don't or is it just the 'Plain Jane' model? Lariat is a model line that is more upscale from the base XL model, and the XLT model. - ---------------------------------------------------- Brian J. My solution for them not staying up was to remove the steel rod from the visor. Just twist it back and forth while withdrawing it. Then bend the tube in (which is inside the visor) with a vice or rubber mallet. Put a rag over it while you do so. When you put the steel rod back in the visor tube it will be much firmer. As for having the visor come back and hitting you in the face as I'm sure it does, remove the whole visor from the vehicle (3 screws) and tap the end of the tube over with a hammer to make it tighter. This worked for me, but I don't know how long it will last. They are really very weak. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Aug 1998 00:09:07 -0700 From: Brant Sawzak Subject: FTE 80-96 - Ford Vans I'm new to the list and I wanted to see if anyone on this list discusses Ford Vans. I have an '84 E-150 with the 300 I6, 124" wheelbase. I recently had it painted, and rebuilt the engine about two years ago. I'm looking for a new intake manifold, hopefully something better than stock. I would like to fit a fuel-injection system on it, but seeing as I don't currently have the cash, a new carb will have to do. Any suggestions? == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ End of 80-96-list-digest V2 #285 ******************************** +---- Ford Truck Enthusiasts - 1980 through 1996 Trucks And Vans -----+ | Send posts to 80-96-list To access the rest of this feature you must be a logged in Registered User Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts
