The trans does not slip or give any indication of problem as of yet. Another question i have is the transmission has a large 64 stamped on the top of the bell housing as well as small 64 in front of the pan. (If you take it off-road) After I ran the truck for 2 days I noticed a glob of oil on the drive way. Right off I knew it was the K&N filter oil running out of the filter. I over did it. I suggest anyone doing this to just smear on the extra oil and not squirt it on per the instructions. I am pleased with the increase in performance. I also noticed a significant increase in noise as mentioned on the list many times. This is only unpleasant (when wife says "Damm!, listen to your truck") at full acceleration and under heavy load. I am convinced that some of this noise is somehow amplified by the high flow exhaust system. Just one problem now. Does anyone know the yellowline and redline RPMs for this truck? I am NOT a JC Whitney advocate; most of the items they sell take advantage of the notable lack of taste of the general public. But there are *some* items that would be very hard to find other places. I took the truck in for a tsb on the rear drive shaft but that didn't really help. The dealer tells me it is a common noise with my type of transfer case. But I can't believe that's true. Does anyone out there with a similar truck have this trouble. I climbed under and checked the u-joints and they seem nice and tight but if I hold the small end of the rear drive shaft and twist the large end I hear a noise that is close to what I hear while driving. According to Ford, they do not make an "add-on" sway bar kit, you need to buy all the parts separately. Well, I talked with one of the nicest Ford parts guys ever for about 20 minutes, and we looked at all the parts required to assemble just the front sway bar. It amounted to over $350 just for the parts (and there's lots of little parts)!! 2) I use my vehicle for commuting to work, mostly through canyons. It spends 100% of the time on the pavement. Have you been the only driver of this truck? are you aware of any abuse of the transfer case? The chain (transfer case)is subject to stretching when abused or heavily used. I agree with you this is not normal, it is a "backlash" type of situation, the area of slop must be determined and brought into tolerance because wherever it is it is only acting as "hammer" on the rest of the driveline upto and including the timing chain and gear set. >Does anyone out there with a similar truck have this > trouble.
