That is where you push the clutch in once and take it out of gear, then push in the clutch again and put it into the next gear right? Mine used to grind in 2 nd and 3 rd, and sometimes even 4th. BUt double clutching has gotten rid of that problem, except on the those groggy mornings and I get a little ahead of myself and dont quite have out of gear before letting up the clutch.... Double Clutch is when you push the clutch in, pull it out of gear, then pull the clutch out, then put it back in, and put it in gear. Chad D. We have a 97 F 150 that my dad drove before his death it has been in the shed for a few months. It only has 21,000 miles on it has been started now and then. The lifters are knocking like it going to blow up, also the defective Ford lugnuts. I am going to turn 16 this summer and was planning to buy a 1994 F 150 or so but if Ford can't even design lugnuts that stay on I don't want one of there vehicles in my possesion. My plans are to buy a 1993-1994 Chevrolet K 1500 silverado. Does anyone know the whole story behind the lugnuts? Seems last summer when the compressor was replaced at least one faulty O-ring seal was used. I guess is has been leaking slowly ever since, but I didn't notice it until now, after having sat for so long. Good news, bad news, the repair of all the O-rings was under warranty, but I had to pay for the freon recharge (at $35 per pound). I have a 96 F250HD extended cab 460,auto,{Wish it was a 5 speed} and I will put it up against a diesel any day {Bound to start trouble with diesel fans but big block people know what I'm talking about.} In all fairness to the diesel camp a diesel will get way better fuel mileage & longevity, but a 460 will pull a hill with a load much more faster Also I could quality rebuild my 460 2 to 3 times for the option price of a diesel. In my humble opinion,if your going to tow everyday go with a diesel, but if your a vacationer go with a 460. Also I think an extended cab will give you the most room per $ {seats up to 6 depending on options} and I get an honest 13 to14 mpg highway[not towing} Hope this helps, Dave Zarnesky , = Ford Truck Enthusiasts ============================================== Send posts to: 80-96-list To access the rest of this feature you must be a logged in Registered User Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts
