Subject: FTE 80-96 - 1980 F-250 Parking break cable

I bought a 80 F-250 3/4 ton truck, with 4-speed "granny tranny", about a
year ago, since that time I have been strugling to find information on how
to properly replace the parking break cable. The old one is not working
and I have a steep driveway and 3 small childeren, I am afraid that the
truck will slip out of gear one day and hurt someone. I have a Haynes
repair manual, but it does not show how to replace the cable.
Any Help will be welcome!

Subject: FTE 80-96 - NEED new 4sp Stick

To make a long story short, I dropped my Warner T-18 4 sp stick and
broke the bearing cap on it. Since the bottom is welded together, it
needs to be taken off of the top. I popped the little shift decal off
the top and then turned the nut to take off the shifter, but doing so I
stripped all the teeth on the stick. If NAPA doesn't make the cap, I am
going to need a new stick (I will find out Monday afternoon if NAPA has
them, if not the stick has to be here no later than August 17) If
anybody is going to a junkyard, could you look for a stick? (it is the
one that is curved to miss the ashtray and such) I would pay for the
stick and shipping, (as long as I know how much the stick is first) I
don't know how much they cost, but if one could be found at a reasonable
price, I would greatly appreciate you all letting me know about it. I
will try our junkyard tommorow and see what I can find, but my fingers
are not crossed.....

Thanks once again
Casey Vandor
