I had a similar problem on my 93.

It turned out to be that the trans mount crossmember/support was loose !

The dealer installed some little shims at the stress points and
re-tightend the bolts and it's been OK since...months ago.

Hope this helps...

A point to consider on using the
shocks for overload springs is that the
shock mounts are closer together than the spring mounts and will not
reduce body roll as much as overload springs that are wider spaced. Air
bags mount outside the leaf springs and have a much wider support
distance. I use air bags on my F-250 and carry a camper that puts me
300 pounds over GVWR with very little body roll and no sag. Can't say
about longevity of the air bags.

That said, if you want to go with shock mounted overloads consider air
shocks. When you load up you can air them up to give the lift you need.
When unloaded you can air them down and have a good unloaded ride
without having a jacked up rear stance, unless that's what you want. I
had air shocks on an older truck and they helped considerably although
not as good as the air bags I now have.

We will be towing the wife's car on a Tow Dolly and when I asked what
speed should we travel at I got the standard reply, don't go over 45
mph. this seems rather slow on interstate with a 75 mph speed limit.
Does anybody have any experience towing with a tow dolly and what would
a reasonable speed be on interstate.

If you remove the driveshaft from the wifes car, or if the car is front
wheel drive and the front wheels are on the dolly you should tow at
whatever speed you feel comforable and safe at.
