I called/visited about 6 local parts stores looking for a power door lock accuator. Every time I was directed to the dealer. I ended up paying $99 because I am to lazy to reach accross the cab to unlock the passenger door. I believe this is to high a price to pay for sloth! Anybody got any suggestions? Thanks, Hal Sylvan == FTE: Unsubscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Jul 1998 12:01:32 -0500 From: "Jram" Subject: FTE 80-96 - Re: 95 Bronco Speedo Noise Ford just recently came out with a TSB for your exact concern. There is a company you can call and get a special lube for the gears in the back. I dont know the number of the TSB but maybe your dealer does. If you have trouble getting it yourself let me know and I can get the info for you. jram http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://home.swbell.net/jram == FTE: Unsubscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 04 Jul 1998 11:41:28 -0500 From: Jim Cannon Subject: RE: FTE 80-96 - vacuum hose layouts please !? Chris- You are right, the stickers under the hood are not great, but they are your best reference. Work with a Helms shop manual to decode the sticker, and then post specific questions to the group. People who also have '86s (it helps to know which engine you have and if it is a Calif. model) will help you out. My 1980 F-150 with the 300 CID I-6 engine had a bad hesitation when I got it from a friend and I traced it back to incorrect vacuum hose routing. It took me a few days of reading, careful tracing, and labeling to get them all right. (And this is a simple engine, I suspect, compared to your '86.) "jones.chris "Does anyone have any comprehensive layout of the vacuum hoses for a late model 1986 Ford F150? I have the vacuum diagram on a sticker underneath the hood, but it sucks. Drawings, pictures, information, etc would be appreciated greatly. I have 3 or 4 hoses that I can't figure out where to put." Jim Cannon Houston, TX "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Yes they are equipped with an o2 sensor. == FTE: Unsubscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Jul 1998 21:18:24 -0400 From: troyw Subject: Re: FTE 80-96 - Oops, still trying to add cruise On 30 Jun 98, at 16:36, Ron Madurski wrote: >My question is whether there are different steering wheels for >cruise/non-cruise trucks? A friend of mine suggested that I put a quart of transmisison fuel in my tank about twice a year to try and get rid of any kind of buildup. I was wondering if this was safe and if the effects are really worth it? Thanks. You might be a redneck if... A lot of good help came about from the list members. Thanks to a few good tips, I have hopefully identified the problem as belonging to the crossmember at the rear of the manual transmission. Others with a 2WD PSD and 5 speed manual solved their problem by placing washers between the frame and crossmember in some form or another. Some were able to get Ford to do it, using a TSB as a helper. By placing a nylon washer between two stainless washers, then placing this sandwich between the crossmember and frame at each bolt, the problem is apparently cured. Maybe this will help a few other people like me. Thanks again to all. I have been using MIE 4.0 for a browser forever, and finally downloaded Netscape Communicator. Is there a way to add all of my bookmarks from MIE (probably 60+ of them) to Netscape? I can't figure out how except to visit each page again and bookmark it. There has to be an easier way though?
