I put 31 x 10.5 on my Stock rims which were 15 x 6.5. I had them on for about a year Before I bought new rims (15 x 8). I never had any problems At all with the larger tires, but the tire shop did tell me that my stock Rims were a little narrow for the tires and to keep them fully inflated properly. The tire manufacturer recommended at least a 7" wide wheel for the tire. Hope this helps. What am i missing; I see 2 mounting bolts and a union nut that need to be removed???? Can you guys fill me in on changing a EGR Valve. Also are there aftermarket Valves out there of equal quality and lower cost?? Also where can they be purchased via internet??? Thanks nom - -- NAME: Norman J. I would still like to do a get together. This past weekend I went up to Big Bear and found a multitude of backroad trails for all levels of off-roading. There is also a large group campground near the beginning which could be reserved for a pot luck lunch or dinner. We could all meet in the small town of Fawnskin (on the north side of Big Bear Lake) and go from there. I think mid to end of July (7-18, 7-25, or 8-1) would be best so people could prepare. There are plenty of lodgings in the Big Bear area if some folks wanted to make a whole (long) weekend of it. Let me know what you all think. If this sounds good we will need to get it posted on the other FTE lists also. I purchased a Motorcraft , the parts guy needed the number off the original. The replacement came with little washers that changed the diameter of the valve and the washer installed depended on the original part number. You are correct on your assumption that it is easy. I think the hardest part was getting the tube disconnected . Problem is recently had rear main seal replaced because of oil leak. Seal replacement stopped leak temporarily. Leak is now back. Mechanic tells me that Fords don't normally have problems with warped crank shafts. Any ideas? Wife is about to throw me out of house for oil leaking on driveway. = Ford Truck Enthusiasts ============================================== Send posts to: 80-96-list Send unsubscribe requests to: majordomo "unsubscribe 80-96-list" in the message body. ======================================================================= ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 May 1998 11:37:59 -0400 From: "Christian J Hedemark II" Subject: Re: FTE 80-96 - DYNOMAX MUFFLERS > Has anyone put dynomax mufflers on their truck? Yeah if you like it quiet as stock, maybe. Only positive thing I can say about the Dynomax mufflers is I got slightly better fuel economy with them installed, but I was going from a single to a dual exhaust so that alone could explain it. > If you could email me directly I would appreciate it > Since I am on the digest. The E4OD also has a noise maker in the parking brake pawl catch mechanism; it's not serious, and in mine (a '91 F-250, with a similar noise since new) has caused no problems. I chased this noise for weeks, checking the entire drive line including the u- joints, rear end itself, and normal tranny noises. Finally, the Ford dealer explained the noise, showed that it was also on several new trucks on the lot, and said the fix was a special glue to fasten a loose plate to the ratchet plate, but that since the noise was not an actual problem (except for the noise) Ford would only cover 25% of the cost, *AFTER* the tranny was out. I decided to wait and see, since my complaint was on record. It's not gotten worse, nor has it caused any problem. Note, this may not be the noise you are hearing (it appearantly doesn't happen on 100% of the trucks), but if everything else checks out OK, this may well be ....
