I used to take care of a fleet of diferent makes and mods. . All of the
older trucks and cars with 50,000 or more did develope some sort of leak
some minor like valve cover some serious like main seals . The oil I
switched to was Amsoil if it makes any difference . The best ting about
switching to this synthetic was we added an external filter and changed the
filters at 3,000 . we changed the oils at 6,000 these trucks were under
heavy stress . At 05:07 PM 5/6/98 -0900, you wrote:

Thank you Rick,Steve and Robert for your responses to my post. Now at
least I can speak semi-intelligently to the parts goons when I need
something. Not that they'll understand anyhow........:-) Randy

Thanks for the info, I will plan on switching in Mobil 1 here soon, and see
how bad, or if at all it will leak. I was also told to use synthetic in the
diffs (both one wheel wonders). I havn't had time to check the synthetic
out yet, but do you buy it as 75-90 W (regular gear oil that I bought last
time) or what are the numbers I need to find? Even here in Ketchikan, the
tranny was a bull to shift when it was only 0-5 degrees out until it got
warm with with that lube in it, so, going up north will be a problem (gee I
could back around the parking lot until it warms up ;-) What should I put
in there?

Thanks again
Casey Vandor
