These engines were typically matched up with the Ford 3.03 3-speed, the NP435 4-speed, and the Warner T-18 and T-19B 4-speeds. (up to 1986, I believe) If you can find a transmission that will bolt up to your bell housing that is heavy duty enough, though, just about any of them will work. Have a look in the Chilton's or Haynes manual for what transmissions were matched with the 351M, 400, or 460 in the late 80's and 90's you can be reasonably sure that they will take the stress of the engine. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Jan 1998 00:22:36 -0800 From: danadeb Subject: Re: Driver's side vent The Emergency brake pedal on my 70 has one bolt under the dash. I cant say fore sure about the other bolts but an emergency brake pedal assembly that I bought once (don't remember the year ford truck I got it from ) had two bolts that went through the firewall and then one under the dash. ( BTW it was a direct bolt in replacement ( had to drill two holes in the firewall ) for the stock one in my 56 F100, you know the ones that when you pull them up, to set the brake, you knock your knees as you get out!) ------------------------------ End of fordtrucks61-79-digest V2 #47 ************************************ =======================================================================....
