I have **not** sent any out yet. The job search got more hectic than I could have imagined. I flew out of town twice for interviews, plus I've been doing 2-3 interviews daily (not including spending 90% of my evenings on the phone with recruiters). I have received a total of 4 offers, 3 of them yesterday. I have accepted an offer and will begin working on Monday. Today I fix the brakes on the truck and my wife's Escort, they're long overdue (Escort is scraping metal!) and I can't put it off any more. Tomorrow I mow the lawn (4 weeks overdue) and catch up on all the things I've promised my wife I would do. On Saturday I will begin sending out stickers (or I'm going to prepare a list so my wife can do it on Monday). Please do not send any more orders for them until I give the group the "okay" as I've really gotten behind with many things and it will take time to catch up. It will take several days to send them all out, I've got a ton of orders for them. I feel really terrible about this whole sticker thing, it hasn't gone the way I expected it to. I bolted a 351C to a C-6 that was bolted to a 351W with no modifications. I even used the same flex plate which I found out later wasn't cool but it worked as long as it was in there :-) Can't remember about the engine mounts for sure, don't think I had to change them? I think they upgraded the 335 series to big block to match the 429/460 flange to reduce the number of transmission configurations they needed in the larger cars and trucks. the 351/400 proposed sizes would have been too much for reliable service from the smaller transmissions anyway. The pin that holds the gear was sheared, and the gear was turning without the shaft. The power lock solenoids have been simple to install in my experience. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Oct 1997 22:26:34 -0700 From: Randy Collins Subject: Re: Factory Cruise Control Ford Folks: I haven't posted for a long time. My job has been incredibly demanding lately, I hope that things will settle down to a normal pace soon. I haven't installed the factory cruise control on my project truck yet but I will. I have a running 1977 1/2 ton truck that I will rob the controls from. They will go into my 1975 body and chassis. I already purchased an early 80's steering wheel pad to go on the small wheel tilt column setup that I am using. I understand that somewhere in the early 80's they changed the cruise setup to incorporate a resume feature. I am not certain what it takes to incorporate this but I believe that the control unit is the only difference. If you want me to report on any of the hardware I have around here I would be happy to run out and look things over for you. BTW, the other day I saw a 1979 Bronco that had a late model steering column in it. The column incorporated the key switch that locks the steering and had the cruise stuff in the steering wheel pad. It looked right at home in the older bronco. I know there are aftermarket units out there but I don't really like the 'kloodged' (pronounced 'tacky add-on piece of ****') appearance of the control units. If I could get one of the factory units to install I know I would feel better about the installation. Something about the controls on the horn button that appeals to me. The other thing I'm planning on is to swap in the interval wiper unit. I know that one is a no-brainer. The problem is that the one salvage yard I asked at wanted $50 for the control unit!! I can get one new at Kragens.... To access the rest of this feature you must be a logged in Registered User Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts
