Guys,
My friend and I both have 78 Fords, he has a Bronco(351M) and I have
F250(400). We both are planning to put headers on our trucks, but we
were told that there are 2 sizes of pipes 1 5/8" and 1 3/4" and that the
1 5/8" will give you more power than the other. How much of a difference
does this make? I have a particular brand that I wanted to put on my
truck that only comes in the 1 3/4" size. Does it really matter???

Thanks!

Some of the list subscribers may have missed some list
mail yesterday and today. Our dedicated hosting company
made changes to our sendmail config 3 days ago without
realizing I had customized it. In the process of trying
to get everything working correctly, I broke this list
queue.

Everything should work normally now.

Hello! I have a 69 F-250 4x4 that has bad spring and shackle bushings. I
recently bought new ones and am having a tough time getting them installed.
I can usually get the bolt loose and out, but getting what is left of the
bushing is a bugger!!! The middle part of the bushing usually falls right
out, but the outside metal part of the bushing is stuck and rusted in. I
have tried driving them out with another bushing and I even tried to cut
them out with a chisel. The only last resort I am thinking about is to
remove the springs and press them out with a hydraulic press. If any of
you have ever replaced these or have any ideas or suggestions, I would
really appreciate it.
Thanks again!!

Subject: Boy, Did I missed the list!

Been away from any computer terminal for about 10 days and I read all 300
plus emails from the group.
I never realized how badly I need my FIX of FTE!! Thanks a ton Ken for all
your hard work and dedication. The advertising does not bother me at all
so let it rip tater chip!

As I mentioned earlier, I have been away fishing in central Ontario, Canada
this past week (bass season opened last Sat!!)
and saw the super nice 54 Mercury M-100 near our fishing camp in Boulter,
Ontario........anyway, I noticed a 53-56 Mercury panel van for sale north
of Peterborough. I was not able to stop and look at it as
my two brothers and father are not really in to the old trucks as I am so
we had to drive on. 8^(

Is there anyone on the list who lives in the Peterborough area that
wouldn't mind emailing me off list.
The Merc panel truck is about 500 meters north of the John Deere equipment
company right as you head north out of Peterborough. I think it is a few
miles before you get on 28 which takes you to Bancroft. I would really
appreciate
an help.

Glad to be back online although I will say LM bass fishing in Canada has
got to be one of the greatest things I
do each year over the last 20 years. Always looking for Fords and Mercs -
Saw no other Mercs except the ones mentioned and very few pre-80
Fords........what gives guys???? Anyone in this area have an answer for
this??

The Chevy dealer in Bancroft had what looked like 100 plus vehicles, the
Ford dealer may have had 15 units on the lot.
I am puzzled.

BTW- I did salute as I drove by the Oakville (Windstar) Ford assembly
plant! 8^)
