Ian,
I don't want to scare you but are you sure the
engine hasn't seized? I've had this happen
to me twice over the years, once with a 302
and once with a Pont #c. Both times the
car was running when I shut it off. When I went
to restart them later, same problem you're
having. I too assumed it was an electrical
problem each time only to be proven wrong
later. I hope your luck is better than mine was.
Just something to check ( if you haven't yet)

A 205 (or a Dana 20, 21, or the late great 24) is gear driven, and has
no clutches or part-time mode. It's either 2wd, PTO or 4 hi or 4 lo.
Dry pavement running 4wd with the hubs locked will tear up something
without a doubt.

The 352 wasn't available in trucks until the '65 model year. Does your
truck have twin-I-beam? If it does, it could have been built late in
'64, but it should be titled as a '65.

I'd like to hear more about your truck.
