The casing is kind of held there by the dipstick, in the hole. How concerned to I need to be about this? Also how do I fix it? I just use the vehicle to drive around lovely GTMO, the most the engine is running at any given time is 40 min, with max speeds of 35mph. I plan to rework the truck after getting stateside in about 6 months TIA 74 F100 RANGER SUPER CAB 390 79 F150 EXPLORER SUPER CAB 302 "IT DON'T GTMO BETTER THEN THIS, SEMPER FI" ______________________________________________________ == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 10:05:43 EST From: JJJJJGRANT Subject: Re: FTE 61-79 - To 289 or 302 that is the ? i think everyone here is interested in performance for their trucks. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 10:11:16 EST From: JJJJJGRANT Subject: Re: FTE 61-79 - Information on 302 around georgia you can buy a junk yard 5.0 for 250.00 ( but without a warranty) if you want the warranty its about 600.00, i could have purchased a 5.0 out of a state patrol mustang with only 12000 miles on it, the transmissions go for 200.00 probably less without the warranty. jeff grant == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 10:12:07 EST From: JJJJJGRANT Subject: Re: FTE 61-79 - ADMIN: 61-79 list split vote keep it togeather. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 10:06:28 -0500 From: Ken Payne Subject: FTE 61-79 - Re: New to list... got a few questions (and a 460!?) Forwarded for: Bill Adams a truck such as this? Everything seems to be working fantastic (except the heater... which I'm working on) but I figured you guys could h*lp > You didn't say if it blew air or not if it blows unheated air try this. A lot of these older trucks had a _summer/winter valve_ in the heater hose under the hood. You close the vavle in the summer to keep the hot water from circulating through the cab, makes it a bit cooler in an un-air-conditioned truck. It'll be located between the water pump and the firewall on one of the heater water hoses. Bill Adams 1966 F-100 Custom Cab, 352 V8, PS, AC, Long bed 1961 F-100 Unibody, 223 and a three on the tree! The code is H2, and that's it. I tried using that decoder thing but I don't know what to fill in for the front or rear. It worked for my other truck, but that is a longer code and was easier to figure out how to seperate it out for front and rear. Also I'm missing the door tag on my '78 lariat, is there any way to find out about the axles? == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 20:22:49 -0500 From: Dayton Boyd Subject: FTE 61-79 - Bottom Dead Center How do you find BDC on other cylinders besides #1, and without just looking down the spark plug hole with a flashlight??? cannandale '78 F250 4x4, 460 == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 21:34:15 -0500 From: "Jerry" Subject: FTE 61-79 - HOLLEY CARB QUESTION I just recently converted to a 4-barrel Holley on an Edelbrock Performer on a 351W.
